just wanted to say hi
I'm new to the forum and the car. I bought a used '05 coupe w/ 11,000 miles on it, I love it and would recommend it to everyone. I hit a new mark on 07/03/06 hit 130 racing a caddy sts. He backed down, which is good because to date that's the fastest I've gone. Well just wanted to say hi and thanks for having a great board for my dream car.
Welcome. I was just noticing that we both have about the same amount of hair left. Mine is distributed slightly differently however. The car will go bit faster if you have enough road and nads of sufficient size.
generally we discuss the limited headroom in our crossfires. feel free to start a new thread on hair room. maybe the raised center spine design has some practical application.

grbudd,
Hi back. Looks like fire hair in the avatar! Guess you'd need a roadster if you had that do!
Welcome to the forum. Post some pics of your new love! We always like to see new ones.
Older than you think. Just having fun and enjoying my new love. Is this a forum for old people?? LOL
Just messing with ya. Thanks for the warm welcome and wealth of information about this beauty.

well yea kinda... the original owners tend to be on the older side since the car was heavily priced and lacked the things younger drivers look for (horsepower to dollar ratio being a big one) in a car ... but many of the new members are very young and seem to be bringing their youthful rashness into the forum discussions.
hell i may be one of them hah.
Therefore, if how fast you drive your Crossfire constitutes your age then I must be 16... killing 145 every chance I get... and going into a turn I'm looking for the .8G force face twist... and you people know I'll street race in the drop of a hat, please don't put me next to a 4.6 Mustang at a red-light and tell me I cannot jump all over it... GOD I love running my Crossfire hard and fast.
Grbudd I'll ride with you any day of the week, just don't be driving the Crossfire like an old person... people should wake up and realize other people expect this car to be moving when they see it... if your Crossfire can't move, then figure out ways to make it fast (I have) and stay in the gas, don't let people who see a Crossfire feel disappointed... hooah
Oh and welcome aboard Brother.

I look forward to seeing the pictures of you and your Crossfire wrapped around a telephone pole. Providing you don't involve some innocent driver or pedestrian !!!
If you stick around this forum long enough, you'll learn that I have a MAJOR issue with morons who race on public streets and highways !!!

grbudd,
Welcome to the forum. It's a great place for information about the XF.
(and a great place for fun ... ie: the thread on the clips at the back of the seating area)
Do read up on any of the mods you might plan, most have tried one thing or another ... and rather succesfully I've read.
adoni

1. drunk driving... how is this still a popular activity ? jeez i had two people i know killed by these morons in the past 3 years but it never made any headlines... i guess its old news...
2. SUV driving err steering morons... get the hell off the phone, if i have one more SUV pointed at me i have to dodge i am getting a RPG to launch at them...
3. poorly maintained crap buckets on the road... no brakes and bald tires oooh yea, don't have to be flooring it to run into me, they just can't stop...
4. street racers... eh so they kill a few dozen people per year but dam does the media love their story cause it gets peoples blood boiling... compare the number of deaths from this to the three above and you'd be shocked... what's the difference between them ? all resulted from ignorance... can't tell me someone being ignorant enough to street race is worse than someone ignorant enough not to get tires and brakes cause they're cheap bastards or too busy with their cell phone in their rolling house...
not to cause a argument about this... but the numbers don't lie... so i think we have bigger issues to fry in this country when it comes to our roads... but since its so popular, why wouldn't we fry the street racers (do they even exist anymore, i swear in my area it has died down seriously, thankfully so) ... hell i haven't had more than 3 or 4 people attempt to race me since i got the car (i did not bite... why ruin my comfort hah)...

In San Diego, where the street racing problem has been termed "epidemic," 16 deaths and 31 injuries were directly related to illegal street racing in 2001. The city's attorney's office prosecuted 147 illegal street racing cases in 1999, 161 in 2000, and 290 in 2001.
In Florida in 2001, 7,216 citations were issued for racing on the highway.
In 1999, the Florida Department of Highway and Safety for Motor Vehicles reported 28 accidents related to illegal street racing, with 2 fatalities and 27 injuries. In 2000, the agency reported 39 racing accidents, with 1 fatality and 55 injuries. In 2002, there were 48 racing accidents, 1 fatality, and 60 injuries.
According to the NHTSA, motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death for people between the ages of 16 and 20.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says 5,749 teens died in the United States from motor vehicle crash injuries in 1999.
Nationwide statistics show that 49 people are injured for every 1,000 who participate in illegal street racing.

I don't give a crap about street racers killing themselves, it's the innocent victims who are just minding their own business, driving down the street.
130ish fatalities ... thats like 3 per state per year ... :-) i see a SUV parked inside a sedan every other day on the way to work :-P lets get the SUV drivers first :-)
but still no excuse ... street racing has to be addressed, just not as it has been so far ... they devote so much police resource to street racing and none to driver education ... the NJ drivers test is a joke ...

btw... i am not discounting street racing as not being dangerous... i just wish we had a better poster child for a rise to action by the drivers of america than such a small percentage of the population...
i think i have a better chance of surviving a encounter with cars that are street racing... than i do with a house being driven by someone on the phone eating a burger while they burp their baby in the back seat.

Hddp, If you don't like racing don't race. If its on the highway and no one else is around but the 2 of you, I don't have a problem with it. You are probably one of the idiots that likes to weave in and out of traffic. That's worse than racing. Some of us here still have a pulse and a competitive spirit. I don't like to lose and I play to win no matter what it is. Life is a big game and you should play to win and have fun. Maybe you were brought up different or are just afraid to compete. I don't know and don't care. As far as your opinion on the subject and the rest of us who do these things I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!!! Remember opinions are like as*holes everyone has one, in this case you are one. I may be new to this forum but I don't need to hear you whine because you don't like something. Let me quote a song you should listen to, just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. And just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense...Sorry if I offended you, but maybe you needed to be offended and 1 more thing **** YOU" from the band Suicidal Tendencies. Pretty much sums up my feelings.
