Cool Re: Tires

Sharonaln67,

More than likely your dealer switched out your tires (you saved $185.00). Maybe someone else bought an XFire before your purchase and had the Conti ASP tires and wanted the PS2's...thus the dealer just switched the tires. This is not uncommon, when my heated seats were replaced, they were taken out of an new XFire that had just arrived at my dealership.

Yeah, my dealer did the same thing - I wanted the all seasons (Ohio winters) so the dealer just took them off of another car and didn't even charge me. I wonder if the other guy noticed he got cheaper tires than the sticker said.

If your car had the PS2's on it and that's what the other car got, then he actually got the more expensive tires despite what the window sticker says...

I have had 40 years of driving experience with many different tires. The tires have improved over the years, but I have noticed that one tire stands out to me as way over rated and that is the Michelin. Michelins seem to be a pretty good tire with one exception, they fall apart if the air pressure gets low. Michelin will not warrenty any tire that has been run under inflated. No take a look at what i just said. If you are on the road and start to get a flat the normal process is the tire gets low then flat hence you have a tire they want warrenty. I have had much better luck with Goodyear than any other tire.
