Default Crossfire needs new rubber - what to get...

I was thinking of these tires which would you pick? I really like the Toyo's and their cheap! Under $700! The cooper's are under $600!

Toyo T1R
Goodyear Eagle F1
Cooper Zeon 2xS
BFG G-Force T/A KDW

I have Toyos on mine and the ride and feel is nice. I also have aftermarket wheels...not sure if that would make a difference though but in all...I like them.

remember ... you get what you pay for... and this would be the case with the cooper tires.

i would personally go with the goodyear's.

toyo's not bad.

the bfg's get loud once they wear.

I put BFG KDWS's on my last car - a '99 Mustang GT vert. They were terrific for the first 15-20,000 miles, but then I had to replace them.
That wasn't so good...

I am running around on the GY's. Nice ride and they look good too! I have only had 'em on for about 6k miles, but so far so good.

Thumbs up Re: Crossfire needs new rubber- what to get...

Because the Crossfire is a "premium" car. I wouldn't cut corners on tires, well unless you don't "drive it" and in that case, go cheap. I'm sure I'm going to need to replace the tires on my car before the lease is up and even then, I'm going with BFG KDW2's or Eagle F1's.

Well I'm not gonna go out and spend $900 on tires. I'm 21 and a college student. My friend has the New TOYO TR1's on his S2000. they are great.

I never buy cheap tires. My family is to valuable to run the risk. I'm far from the time that I'll have to replace tires, I hope, but when I do, they'll probably be Goodyear's, Conti's or Michelin.

I think you can guess my recommendations for OEM wheel sizes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. For Non-OEM wheels 18" all the way around, Hoosier R3S04. For dry weather only !

Toyo tires are so, so...

Unidirectional = no tire rotation.

I got the Goodyear F1s on mine about 2 months ago... just replaced the rear tires, the front ones are still ok (funny how that happens ). I like the goodyear's a lot; they seem to do really well in the rain and I like the way they ride. I got them from tirerack.com since they had the best deal and everyone in town was going to have to special order them anyway.

I'll admit, those Toyo's look pretty cool. I guess I'll have to wait and see when the time comes.

Boy, I must be out of it completely... LOL... I buy tires for performance and traction in hard driving conditions that would, and have shredded TOYO tires in less than a full track weekend... A tire that will give me 2 seconds faster lap times and last more than one track day. Perhaps I should start looking at the cool factor instead.

I guess I can't comment on this thread any longer because we're talking apples and oranges... And I didn't even know the "COOL" factor existed in the tire world... If I did, I would be looking at the following tires for the street: FALKEN FK452. It's definitely "PIMP MY RIDE" kind of rubber...

I love the Michelin PS2's that came on my car!
They are by far the best tire I've ever driven on and I've owned 15 cars and who knows how many tires.
I've never pushed a tire so hard going into and out of a turn in my life...they just stick like glue!
I've also driven it in the rain a couple times and I was amazed at how good they were in the wet conditions...they are the best!

When they wear out, I will be getting another set for sure!
I know they wont be good in the snow though, but thats why I own my 96' Dodge Neon. lol

well i have had the eagle f1 and the kdw's... not on the crossfire thou. but the eagle f1 are great tire but don't last long past 10 to 12k miles ride is great till then and they are not real loud. but the f1's are very bad about getting flat spots, especially if you like to turn off the traction control (if you know what i mean). now the kdw's are also a really good tire but they are a bit noisy and yet again to don't last long. both are excellent handling and great rain tires. my only complaint is their tread life. to me not worth the money for only 12k miles. no experience with the others sorry.

Sure you can - the stock tires can be rotated side to side, just not front to back. Unidirectional tires couldn't be rotated side to side unless they were dismounted from the rims, turned around, and remounted.

Default Cooper Tires - Surely Someone has tried them??

Ok so my tire shop is recommending Cooper tires for my Crossfire. They also have Sumitomos available. I look on this forum and no one has used the Coopers? They are made in the USA and seem to be a decent buy. Surely someone has used them and can give a comparison to the stock Continentals
