Miss. Cleo predicts you will be keeping that Crossfire.

Re: Trade in value.
I was looking at the Dodge Caliber. They want 18K for the one I was looking at. I won't even consider it if I carry money over. My CF was priced at 32K when I bought it so having it down to 26K now should be seen as pretty good. Another dealer in town had a CF just like ours on his used lot for 28k and it had 35K miles! So it's not insane to think it POSSIBLE to get 26k for mine, but I am not counting on it.
I'll tell you what is insane though, I like Jeep Wranglers, and I've seen 2004's with over 30K miles on them going for 18-19k! Now that is insane!

You paid 32K? When? They have been selling for 26K for a long time now. I paid 29K three years ago.
There is no way any dealer would give you 22K for yours when you are looking at an 18K car. You must have been talking to a newbie sales guy. As soon as the used car appraiser looked at your car the number would most definitely go down. Chrysler screwed us all on this car. They didn't know how to market it so it became a dog. We are all now dog owners. I am lucky that I don't have to sell mine. I won't be for crap money. I love this car and every minute I drive it. It's my wife that wants me to sell it. Guess I can't honey, sorry.
Ahhh, to be a new Crossfire owner and still think your car is worth alot. Those were the days.

Hey "knowit" I am in the process of getting rid of my cf too... Our chrysler dealership offered me $20,500 for my '04 coupe with 10k miles. I know it is a good deal that i need to look at but i am much more interested in selling it outright. Another dealer in town, just a local car lot, offered me $17,500 to buy it outright. Then last week I see the new 4 door wrangler... and i've always liked jeeps... so i go in, they offer me 13k for trade in... i laughed and walked away. I KNOW YOUR PAIN!
Re: Trade in value.
Two dealers offered me 20-21K for mine. The Kelly Blue Book lists at least 20K for my XF with the mileage it has. How would it not be worth that? Yes, these two dealers are both Dodge/Chrysler dealers but still.
I owe 26 and have to carry over the 4-5K and that's why I won't trade. I am not making the 18k car a 23K payment plan.

Re: Trade in value.
Someone posted a while back that dealers no longer use Kelly. There is some auction that happens in PA and those numbers are published almost daily and that is what the dealers are using now. What I found when using the Kelly numbers a few years back was that the two dealers I went to said they never give a car Excellent, its always good, in spite of the fact that my GT Cruiser was cleaner than any of the PT's they had on the floor and it only had 11,000 miles on it after a year two years on the road.
Good luck !

Re: Trade in value.
The last thing a dealer needs now is used cars! They are swamped with them, and being a rear drive sports car, they don't want the hassle of storing it on the lot over the winter. There are dealers who still have NEW Crossfires that are selling at 22-23K just to get rid of them (thats how I got mine!) If you paid close to sticker for it, I'm sorry, with the depreciation of anything now, you won't get squat. I was lucky enough to pretty much buy it with the depreciation already taken off of it. However, the good news is that this is such a limited car (especially the SRTs), that the devaluing should be dropping off, and it will hover in the mid-teens for a while. Kind of the way the SLK's have stopped their fall in the mid 20's (hard-top convertible, don't forget). Same with the Z-3. They are getting old, and still haven't dropped below 10 grand no matter how many miles are on them. Cars are not an investment.
