to those that have drag raced...
i had a hell of a time launching. what were most of you guys running in the 1/8th mile? it sort of sucks because i'm about redlining 3rd when i cross and the crossfire doesn't like being up there.
what's a good launch rpm?
what kind of 60' foots were you guys getting?
thanks...

Re: to those that have drag raced...
I never dragged the car but at the autocross I attempted to launch it and it is very odd. This is because of the rev limiter and full throttle limiter to 4,200 rpm's until after 10 mph. When I tried a full throttle launch, the rev's were held at 4,200 without max power, I slipped the clutch a bit and the car just went off very smoothly with very little wheel spin. The limiter can be seen as a launch control. I did not want to try it again though. I feel that 3,000 - 4,000 is an appropriate launch rev. Be a little aggressive with the clutch to get the wheels spinning slightly to keep the engine from bogging down. Also, launch the car with the rev's increasing and take off the traction control!
Re: to those that have drag raced...
you have two options for a good launch:
a) pull the t/c fuse.
b) or depending on track/road conditions launch from 1,200 - 2,000 rpm and then mash it after you know your car has great traction.
i don't recall my 60 ft time, but i did run the 1/4 mile in 14.63.
