Default Hello, New guy Here with questions?

Hi everyone,
I have loved the X fire since its release and finally got one two days ago! I got a crazy great deal on a 2004 6 speed. Its not the SRT-6. I was wondering, does chrysler upgrade the '04 model or would you guys recommend RENNtech only. I love this car so far but would really love more horse! I have a little over 15k to spend so please any ideas would be great! And yes I bought this car for what it is and the design, its so sexy! I look forward to being a part of the community here. Also I'm in San Diego so any recommendations in the SoCal area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/per...cts/kompressor

there is your answer... intercooled supercharger kit for 10k... 331 hp 321 tq... and yes, the transmission and engine can handle it... kleeman used to design the AMG kompressors in the past and continue their OEM quality design to this day. they cost big money but produce results that mercedes owners demand, which is OEM reliability, and a one year warranty...

Thanks intenseblu, I looked at it and it looks great. I was hoping for more horse though. I even tried to see I Mercedes or Chrysler could give me a new SRT-6 Engine. Unfortunately my xfire is a 6 speed and the SRT-6 Engines are for auto only. I also looked at RENNtech and saw there 22k upgrade and almost s*&t myself. After seeing Kleemann its hard not to say yes to them. I'm not upgrading till June so I still have time to look on here and do some more research.

Heck Yeah brhertel! I have seen maybe 4 here in San Diego. Another reason I bought it!

SO FAR I LOVE THIS FORUM! VERY INFORMATIVE

Speaking of Kleemann, has anyone on the forum ever put one on an XFire? I was wondering if it could be installed by a pretty good shade-tree?

I know you just bought your '04 but if you are willing to spend an extra $15K to get as much power as an SRT6 you could probably trade your '04 for an SRT6 and I doubt the difference would be more than $10K out of pocket.

There are still some good deals on SRT6s out there. That way you get the whole package, engine with supercharger, upgraded suspension and especially the brakes. Don't forget they will all be covered under warranty as well.

SRT SIX,
To be honest I have been debating that alot lately. My only concern is the Auto Stick. I love driving the 6 speed, and have never had any experience with the auto stick. Have you driven both?

Does anyone have any feedback on the differences, Preferences, Etc...

BTW thanks for the detailing answers SRT SIX, yours looks amazing! That's the exact look I'm going for too.

I'm with SRT SIX. It may be better to just go with a SRT6 model. There are some screamin' deals on eBay this week.

I wanted a standard transmission too, but had no choice with the SRT.
The auto stick is actually really nice and works well. I had a Prelude with the auto stick type transmission and I like the SRT6's better.

Good luck.

If your willing to spend 15k on the crossfire, you could always drop it off a SI in Hermosa beach. They seem to have the ability to modify this engine and do custom stuff too. There are some other shops in Huntington beach, but so far SI is the only shop who has showed interest in the crossfire. They also seem to read post and respond quickly here.

Maximussquid,

Check the thread on "New look for less" https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=11499

It looks especially good on a black Crossfire...The pic on the left is the standard grey with silver strips grill. The one on the right is black with chrome strips.

A manual transmission is nice and helps with performance, however the power and torque that the SRT6 provides is more than enough to drive the autostick. I have manually shifted and find it fun, but I have had a permanent smile on my face ever since I stepped on the "go pedal" on my SRT6.

Being in SoCal myself the auto does a great job on the freeway when it is in parking lot mode.
