Good Deal???
I have been a Crossfire fan for a while and never have been able to afford one. I recently found a '04 Crossfire with 34,000 mile, auto, pristine cond, clean carfax for $17,000. Is this worth getting? I would appreciate the feedback, Thanks.
depends, the price is pretty low. when i was choosing, i first looked at a XF with 40k miles for $18,888, but then i looked around and seen you can buy a newer one for almost the same. i ended up buying one for $19,500 with 5,600 miles. its up to you. if you want to spring for a little more for a newer car, but i would say if you don't mind it being slightly more used it might be a good deal. but i was say also buy an extended warrenty. not the one from the dealer because they add a big chunk for profit, but get one directly from DC.
My local Chrysler dealer told me today that many of the Crossfires he sold on 36 month lease will be available for sale within the next few months. He also told me that he can't order any new Crossfires.
The average lease buy out price is $17,000 - $18,000 for the '04 Coupe.
IMO $17,000 for a Pristine condition Crossfire with 34,000 miles seems like a GOOD DEAL. I have a feeling many people are waiting for the opportunity to ****** these cars up. Especially if they include an extended warranty.
Remember... You get what you pay for. If the price seems too good to be true, something's wrong.

That doesn't seem like a bad deal. I paid $18,200 for my '04 with 18k on the clock with the 7/70 transferred over to me. I would look for a six speed, but that's just me. Whatever you end up choosing, good luck, you won't regret it, I know I don't!
I bought my XF for $17k w/ 30,000 miles on it and I jumped on it. Mainly cause it was a manual transmission and most, if not all of the XF in my area are Auto Roadsters so I wasn't going to keep looking.
Another way to look at it is at the intrinsic value.
A Karmann/Mercedes that'll turn heads for its likely lifespan of 150,000+ miles. Built like a tank, fast, reliable, and gorgeous. I bought my convertible a year and a half ago w/3k miles for $28k. Although prices have subsequently slid a bit, I'm still not upside down, and I've still never seen a car I like better for less dough.
It's a Boxster for Miata money.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
Hey Carroljb,
I will sell you my 2004 Coupe with 11K miles on it, Auto Stick in Gun metal gray for 18,500. I never drive the car and have kept it covered. I have a new Dodge Magnum SRT and don't need so many cars.
Offer goes for anyone else in or near San Jose, California who would be interested. Email me at: JoeTate@aol.com
The only modification I've done to it is add the rear hatch area cover.

That price is high.
My XF whole sale which is bone stock and in mint condition has gotten offers from 13-14k, and that is for a Graphite gray. with only 15 thousand miles on it. I still find it sick, that this car is worth less than my neon.
The scary thing is my residual is $19,000. If they want to sell it to me for around 11-12k at the end of the lease, I'll buy it.
If I were you I would fork up a lil' extra cash and buy an SRT-6 in the low 20's. I have seen 4-5 already in that price range, miles were 15k and under.
