Default X-Fire Brake Dust Shields

Does anyone know if these are available and where i could get some.
F.Y.I. the front wheels in my x-fire get brake dust on them really quick and i searched for some on the net but I could not find any for the x-fire.
I was only able to find some for other chryslers made by a company called Kleen Wheels here's the link:

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Instead of the brake shields, you need to get the rotex gold brake pads. Here's the best link for them.

http://www.buybrakes.com/rotex/
and it took them 5 days including a weekend to get them. $156 including shipping for the SRT pads front and rear. The limited pads are a little less.

no kleen wheel covers are available nor recommended...

most of us have gone to a dust-free brake pad... called: 'rotex gold' (many past threads)...

available at: buybrakes.com

$78.48 (fronts) ...

part number needed: d9740d (listed under m/b)...for imited or base crossfire part.

Buying the Rotex Gold brake pads for the front axle is the best decision I ever made - other than buying the Crossfire itself. =)

So why do they not make dust?? what is wearing away if the pad is not? How much is it wearing the rotor? On my Charger I use an inexpensive non metallic pad and get nearly no dust from it. I think metallic pads are a big contributor to dust on rims and a lot of the dust is actually metal from the pads and rotors. So I just wonder about these pad you speak of... I will do a search on the threads here and learn!

the material used in 'dust-free' pads creates a light colored dust which doesn't show on the wheels. the softer the material equates to a shorter the life span and distributes a darker material/residue visible to the eye.

here is some general info from the manufacture...

Rotex Gold is the finest Kevlar metallic pad to date. It offers excellent stopping power, combining top-rated performance with a long service life. The friction material blends Kevlar with metallic soft steel wire and powdered sponge iron for maximum heat transfer, and silver virgin graphite for smooth quiet performance. This 60% metallic blend reduces vibration which causes squeal, and runs virtually dust free eliminating the common problem of "black dust" on the wheels. Perfect for drilled or slotted brake rotors.

the downside to these kleen wheel covers is... the heat build up inside the rim due to poor ventilation may warp your rotors...

i used these in the late 80's & had warping issues on a bmw. plus seeing the black hub cap looking disc through the rim holes looks horrible imo.

Here is a link for the wheel covers for anyone that may be interested in them:

Andrew... unless someone is a real aggressive driver and gets on the brakes a lot, do you think
the dust shields would cause all the damage you describe? I would agree with you for hard driving,
but everyday driving? Just an uneducated guess on my part as I am by no means an expert on
automotive brakes...

I do think they would look butt ugly.

I currently have these dust shields on my Ford Escape and they are great. I bought a pair for my dad for his Caravan and he loves them too. I have 10,000 miles on them with no problems.

Due to the fact that My X-Fire has such big rims and painted calipers, I would not even think twice about putting them on this car...Rotex Gold all the way!
