Highway Challenges
It doesn't matter how slow or how fast I drive, every time I take my Crossfire on a limited access highway, somebody wants to race.
I'm not making this up. It seems as though it happens every single time.
Yesterday was a beautiful day, my Wife and I went for real nice 65 mile ride in town, and around the outskirts. I wasn't on the X-way 5 minutes when I see a sport bike in my mirror about 1/8 mile behind me when traffic passed me because I was cruising just under 60 mph (so my spoiler would stay down). No sooner than he spots me, he was instantly beside me, and then he started to bait me by speeding up and slowing down in short little bursts of speed. Now I don't make a habit of racing 10 second bikes with my Viper, so I'm certainly not going to race one in my Crossfire. I just ignored him, and eventually he moved on.
Later on some young guy comes down an on ramp in what looks like an old and now "unmarked" white Ford police car with loud exhaust, and a 30 day tag on the back. I hear him hop on it so he can catch up to me, he passes, then slows down and stays right beside me for about a mile, speeding up just enough to make his exhaust even more annoying than it already was, then only to slow down just enough to pace me again. Once again, I ignored him too, and eventually he sped off.
I've owned alot of sports cars, and muscle cars over the years, but I can't remember ever having one that seems to bring out the "boy racer" in nearly every other guy that sees it, like the Crossfire does.
Does anybody else have this problem?

honestly I have raced a few in the crossfire, but it was mostly me provoking the race, I can only think of maybe two occasions where someone wanted to race me before I wanted to race them...
one time I was driving about 80 in a 50 mph zone and my friend in his car following me and some guy in an old c320 wanted to race him... my friend than pointed to me and the guy sped up to me on the other lane, turned on his emergency lights and we were off... after absolutely destroying him i slowed down to wait for my friend and he passed me with respect later me and my friend caught up to him and he let us pass respectively changing lanes when we were near him and then moving back into the lane after we passed...
the second time i was driving about 85...it was very late and dark... I think it was a 50 mph zone maybe a 65 and some guy in an suv behind me in the left lane decides that 85 is not fast enough for him so he moves to the right lane and tries accelerating on me badly... so I change lanes as well to block him then he goes back in the left lane... I proceed to do the same and we accelerate to about 105 he then turns on his sirens and yells SLOW DOWN on the loud speaker and passes me from the right... took me a while to realize it was the police...

I have the same problem - everyone wants a piece of the Xfire. What really cracks me up are these little Civics with fart-can exhausts who think they are the sh*t.
Yep, it happens to me all the time. The first few were kind of fun but now it's just annoying. All I want to do is go for a nice drive with my daughter or
just get to work and I'm accosted by one of two types: a: civic/acura/celica with a fart cannon exhaust & a monster wing, or b: a 10 year old caprice/oldsmobile/cadillac/lincoln, painted with grey primer and 26" chrome wheels. Both cars have the sub woofer turned-up so loud you can hear 'em coming 1/2 mile off.
