I just want to add a "me too" on this. My SRT-6 roadster has a small glass chip on the passenger side window.

Unhappy Re: exceptionally soft glass??

My windshield is the same, full of little pits and it drives me crazy.

I had my daughters windshield replaced @ 8,000 miles. It had a chip and looked like it was sandblasted. I agree that the glass seems to be softer then normal.

I had the same pitting on my '03 Audi TT, but I had a '99 M3 that didn't seem to have the same issue with an original windshield - I don't see it yet on my SRT-6, but I guess I should expect it now, especially with a lot of highway driving.

If you don't mind me asking; how much did the new windscreen cost? And where did you get it done?

It did not cost anything. I was part of the deal when I bought the 2nd SRT. I believe it cost less than $250 to have the mobile glass company come out and install the windshield.

Now if you are referring to the wind screens, they were bought from Kingpenn @ windresistors. There are several threads concerning these products, which work great.

Thank you for your info. I get used to calling parts of the cars in "English," like the "boot" of the car. Is the new glass harder than the original?

I've noticed the problem. Coincidentally, my wife's BMW 330ci seems to have the same problem.

me too. shows up in the sunshine like zillions of sparkly little stars.

whoever suggested that having the windshield close to the ground is causing the problem wins the prize. i ride a m'cycle a lot and you sure do eat a lot of sand and gravel down low compared to cars and trucks.

what's it cost to have a new one put in - turn key??

Please don't post any more pics of that SEMA Crossfire. I barfed all over my monitor.
