Default Heated washer fluid?

I read somewhere that Xfires spray heated windshield washer fluid. Anyone know if it's true? I can't find much info on it either way.

The mirrors are heated, the fluid isn't.

the heating of the mirrors is activated by using the cars rear defroster button...

here are pics of the mirrors folded in both directions... (grab hold with both hands and twist the mirror... it will release)...

I heard of people drilling a small drain hole at the bottom of the mirror to prevent this from happening, but your recommendation is much better. Thanks Mr Clean.

Bumping this thread back to the top...

Apparently the Crossfire DOES have heated fluid and nozzles (my '04 coupe, anyway). I was poking around under the hood and opened the main fuse box (driver's side, near the firewall). The little card inside clearly labeled fuse #12 as for washer fluid and nozzle heaters! I'm going to look closer tomorrow and see if the heaters are actually there or in the same status as the rear fog light on US models...

Heated washer fluid? Crossfire, no. SLK Mercedes, yes. Seems we got the short end of the stick on that one!

Kinda what I thought too, but there's actually a fuse in there so it's got me wondering. It's not like DC to add expensive fuses for no good reason so I'm going to do a little fishing...

Got me wondering more too, so I did the research in the service manual. Fuse 12 in the underhood accessory fuse block is infact a 10 amp fuse, but in the electrical diagram in the service manual, it shows that it has a fuse, but it's not used for anything. I also went through the narrative for the wiper system in the service manual and it makes no mention of heated wipers.
It is confusing why they would put a fuse in and then label it for heated wipers when we don't have heated wipers. Also none of the pictures of the wiper nozzles show wires going to them indicating they would have a heater in them, plus the washer fluid bottle don't have a heater in it. It really is confusing. Makes ya want to have a nice cold brew and ponder it a while longer... Hmmm, think I will!!

~ if it was in fact heated... one would think... when a warm fluid was sprayed/applied on to a cold windshield (winter time) steam would appear (even a slight amount) with the exposed temperature change??

You are right Andrew, and I have never seen the steam on my windows at all.

Never driven in winter... but that does make sense. Still why is the fuse in there.

I think I have seen just a bit of steam, and I was always surprised how well the washers worked on my icy windshield, which is what prompted my question originally. Hmmm...

I noticed the fuse for the heated washer fluid right after I got my XF back in October of 2005 while examining just about every little thing during that first week of ownership. I just assumed it was true. Here in South Florida, it really doesn't make much difference either way. The fluid is naturally heated by ambient temperature.

But there is one strange thing I noticed about 04Fire's pic of the fuse panel card from within the fuse box...

Mine looks just as warped and crumpled as his. I was kind of surprised to find it in such condition while the car was otherwise pristine when purchased.
