Default Problem with My XFIRE ... Need advice from the pro's

I had the protective markings done on the xfire for Insurance purposes... When I picked back up my xfire I noticed only at dead stops the vehicle feel's as if it is going to stall but does not... If you can Imagine a standard car doing a mild rumbling feeling prior to stalling that's the feeling I get at every dead stop, I even tested it to see if left for awhile if it would stall but it does not... I checked the battery connection I see that one of the marking they did is right around the wiring...

Any idea of what this is? I don't want to bring it in blindly and get grabbed for a $$ service fee... my xfire is an '04 only 34km on it... And is an automatic!

Thanks for the help.

I have this problem when ever my engine cooling fans kick on. It's only for a split second, but the car will idle rough and the lights will dim. Supposedly an aftermarket voltage regulator or a large capacitor will correct this. Mercedes will correct this for SLKs, but our generous Chrysler brand will not.

I noticed this on my '04 automatic too. When i first start it up and go into reverse especially, it really bogs down.

My wife had this happen with her XF. Check the engine cover and make sure it is making a seal in the air filter intake on the back side of the cover. Pull the entire thing off and then align it to make sure the "circle" intake in the rear bottom of the cover is good to go. Let me know if this works.

ah that would make sense, that would also suck in all sorts of garbage into the engine. not good.

Had a similar problem, cover was loose, seems to be fine now.

I had the same problem. The dealer thought it was the EGR valve, but after they took the intake apart and reassembled, it was gone for good.
