TopGear Review (video)
For those of you not from the UK, top gear is the main car review show on TV. I pick my crossfire up this week but my excitement was a little dampened when I saw this...

How accurate is this...if at all? I know Jeremy Clarkson can be a %@#! sometimes...

this has been discussed many times before please do a search, before you make a report...however, top gear doesn't always speak bad of the crossfire, your buddy who didn't like it their, places it at #1 against the 350z and audi tt.

WOW i can't even believe they let that piece air on TV. That was just downright horrible. And he talks about how he can't tell what the tires are doing...is because its gripping so well they aren't making any noise yet!!
And THEN to compare it to a turd box RX-8 and say that the Mazda is better is just ridiculous!

7.2 0-60? little slow. I think it could have been re-dubbed by another person and make it sound like a million bucks. I did look at RX-8 before i bought my baby. But as soon as i drove my XF i never gave any other car a second though. Good let the English drive the mazdas.
i really really like top gear but one has to realize that jeremy, hamster (hehe what a horrible nick name), and captain slow are not really good car critics ... they know little about the internal workings of a car and that's why they were chosen ... they are meant to give the average joe opinion for whatever entertainment value it has and that's all.
jeremy however has been a gross gross offender in many reviews were he misses the point and target of the vehicle by a mile. BUT as soon as they review a jaguar he is all "well it feels like it lifts above 90 but if you drive it below that its a great car ... " even though its not much less than its better competition and then he offers his funny analysis of why it happens how the rear spoiler has too much down force lol ... sure he all of a sudden is a aerodynamics expert. more likely its a flaw of the suspension spring rates they chose for the car.
added: i am shocked how well the show has done, and it speaks well of the European motorist ... it shows how much effort and thought they put into their driving skill through how much thought they put into what they drive. shows with much more car savvy (near auto engineer like in some cases) hosts have aired on TV here in the US and did not do very well at all as there are too many people that got their drivers licenses in a box of cheerios here hehe...

Jeremy Clarkson also loved the Audi S4, but my roommate has one and hated it so much he sold it at a loss to get a new car.
Tiff Nedell from Fifth Gear gives the Xfire a much more honest review. He said its a good car, just a little soft.

To each his own. Remember, he is in the media business and the most important thing to the media is "THE MEDIA" if you don't make good media you wont maximize profits.
A Brit bashing a German & American product in the same media splice! - WOW I bet they sold plenty of ad space.
Only thing he left out was Bush arching his back while Dr. Z sniffed.
I never let a commercial or some bonehead media hound's review make my decision.
Research, drive, price, then make your decision.
I to only watched about half of the video before I could see his bias and clicked close.

It is still on TV b/c i saw them ragging on the Maserati Quattroporte i think it is. Its on at an odd time like 9 pm and 11 pm on the same channel. It might be TLC or it might have been like discovery or science channel.

and from your comment sounds like you think he is biased against all american cars, which is definitely not true.

Anyways I had a dude pull up next to me today and start asking questions about my xfire. His lane was way far up but he stopped next to me. Sure it was a guy but I like the attention. Would of just been nice if it was a big breasted blonde.
After watching this review I have a few comments. He said the rear of the Crossfire looks like a dog defecating...In my view it looks like a very powerful cat in a crouch ready to take the dog to lunch...What he did not cover is the beauty of this car...A work of art. I believe he has no taste. I park the car...A Blaze Red roadster and watch the people...Very interesting...Don't understand the slow sales...A new Mercedes Benz roadster for $25K that is fun to drive...How about his comment on German scientists and American money to reach the moon...Germany owns Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mini Cooper, etc. America owns Jaguar, China owns MG and Rover...England deprived her subjects of guns...I would rather be a citizen...No gun free zones.

I found that piece to be offensively biased against an "American" car, despite acknowledging its MB underpinnings. He didn't even give it a chance.
Contrary to the disappointments he outlined, I find the car handles the road like none I've owned before. I can feel the "grab" in every zig-zag I can find my way through. The automatic shifts more than adequately. And I can hear the beautifully throaty exhaust as I gun the throttle. Though the interior is far from regal, I would not call it "cheap" by any means.
I understand the Crossfire's "love it or hate it" type appeal (or lack of), and clearly, this guy just didn't like the car from the get-go. But it irks me that he did not say a single positive word about it. Not one.
His credibilty is zero in my book.
