Default Battery replacement

For those who want the information: Interstates battery part #mtp-h6 is an exact duplicate of the battery found in our cars.
It looks like they were made from the same mold and they even have the exact same decals. Looks like who ever makes interstate is also
the OEM company for the crossfire. I changed mine today after being stranded on sunday.

How many miles/years did your OEM battery last?

It is an '04. I have 7,700 miles on it. It was dead sitting on the lot when I bought it and I had trouble with it since then.

Multiple postings re: batteries finally got my attention and made me check electrolyte levels in all of our family vehicles... much to my horror, everything I owned needed fluid! ...Topped 'em all up with distilled water and put them all on the charger to rejuvenate the plates... Hopefully, this will extend the life of these things a bit... Bottom line: check the fluid levels in your batteries! I am very picky about everything else on my cars, but have just totally forgotten to do this over the years!

Talking Re: Battery replacement

Your battery was most likely neglected for quite a while before you bought your car. It should have lasted at least 4 years with good care. I checked mine last month when I took it out of storage and was happy to see it was in good shape. I still gave it an overnight slow charge before I even tried to start the car. I guess I'm just old fashioned in that way. Comes with age... LOL.

I was surprised when I opened the hood on the Crossfire the first time and saw the battery. It was identical to the one I had in my 99 ML320. Actually pretty much everything except the engine cover was identical... Go figure...
