Question Infinity Initial "Chrysler" Display

Is there any way to change the C H R Y S L E R message that appears on the Infinity radio display when you first start the car?

Nope. It's been discussed a few times in the past and there appears to be no way to change that display. You would probably have to reprogram the radio's EPROM/Flash memory, which would take some pretty specialized hardware/software.

Me, actually. I think it would be much cooler for the radio to display "Crossfire" or "Bob's Car" or "Loading..." or anything else besides "Chrysler" when it initializes.

No one's complaining. It was just a question that grphtmtlc11 asked. No different than any other idea posted on this forum. Are you having a bad day Maxwell.

Speaking of the infinity radio, im ready to remove mines for one with a direct input for my I pod. I have tried the FM transmitter one's and they sucks. Not to mention the problems of traveling through different towns always looking for a open station, as the one I was on starts to fade out...Anyone with a radio with a direct input, and that causes the less if any damage to my dash? If you have the name brand that would be fine.

try a clarion, they have incredible sound quality and are very user friendly. also you can run the ipod adapter through into the glove box and not cut a single thing.

Any specific model or do you have a model #, also what's the price of the adapter running.

no. some of us just don't like being an advertisement for cheapness. i got the car because of who makes it; not who distributes it.

Hey, I think it would be kinda cool to make it say funky stuff. My Scion could do it. I'm not nuts about the stock unit myself - I have the "washout" version that can't be read in the daytime, and it's not all that easy to use. Wanna mute? Press the "FP" button. Brilliant. The in-glass antennae is great for design aesthetics, but it doesn't seem to do the best job holding signals. The car still rawks, though. BTW - What does GMAFB stand for?

I agree - I want mine to be a strobing bar that goes up and down, up and down and speaks thru the speakers in a monotone voice saying: "GOOD MORNING MICHAEL, WHERE WILL WE GO TODAY?"

No Crossfire emblems for me -
I need one that says K.I.T.T.

Nice. Been a long time since I've seen that. No wonder everyone wants 'Turbo' for their Xfires.

There's a TSB for the radio. Stop by the dealer and ask them to order you a new one.

You still don't know what that stands for? Give Me a F-ing Break!
