Stereo sux
I've ranted about it before, but wtf were they thinking with the stereo?
FM AS, Best FM, AM - AM- AS, AS-SEEK, OPT, yada yada yada.
Simplicity is a luxury and this is SUPPOSED to be a luxury car.

has anybody else noticed the channel names wrong? for instants no.1 preset on my car is 94.5 the buzz. no.2 preset is 97.9 the box. most of the time 97.9 is labeled as the buzz although it'll say 97.9 and play the correct channel. this isn't only when i switch from no1 to no2 preset either. i'm upgrading soon. i want mp3 and better quality.
I'm not one to upgrade much of anything unless is see something real positive come out of it, but in this case I may upgrade the stereo to one with a nav unit. I use a portable nav unit now and have for a long time, but i'm getting kind of tired of catching it as it slides off the dash when I go around a corner... This one is a Garmin and sits on a heavy pad. It works ok in the pickup, but the XF dash has just enough of a slope to it... Well you know the rest of the story that goes with the .9G turns... LOL.
Another thing i want to know about the radio is...Does it have a timer? Ok, every morning i put my ipod on (89.7). At the same exact time/spot where i reach a particular point in my destination, the radio channel changes to 106.9 (religious station). It's the strangest thing...I then have to manually switch the station back, but its really annoying. Anyone have this problem? It might be a simple fix, i'm not sure...

distantpulse: The radio will lock on to the strongest signal it can find on a given frequency. In your case it probably is getting interference on 89.7 and is picking the next pest station for you to listen to. Switch the radio to manual tuning (hit the "man" button) or alternatively use a different frequency. Here's a handy little link that will help you find unused FM frequencies in your area:
