I put Hankook's on mine. Low price, quiet, and they look good. No complaints.

The Crossfires didn't come with runflats, so it wouldn't be a bad idea (especially since there is no spare).
Directional tires are supposed to be better for handling.

My advice - stick with a good brand and check Tirerack.com or the like to review ratings and performance in the categories you have above (wet, noise, handling).

well the bfgoodrich's have are $400 cheaper and are harder rubber than the pilots. they have a completely different tread pattern. it's a new style of tread. look under the "wheel, brake, tire" lobby, and you'll see my post about them. they're supposed to perform in rain very well.

How many miles are you getting out of the factory tires? I only have 25,500 and in need of new one.

What the going prices for replacements?

I am sold on the Michelin Pilots that came with the car. It looks like I am going to get 20K or more out of them and they have plenty of grip for me. I have had truck tires that didn't go 20K miles that were just as costly. However, I don't use my car in the winter and I really don't think the Michelin's would be much in the snow, they are as far from all weather as you can get.

The dealer put Avon M500's on my '04 before I bought it and they seem quite nice, really. Despite much coaxing, I haven't been able to make them squeal or even work very hard. They're pretty quiet and seem very capable to me so far.

I just purchased the BFG KDW2 tires for mine. I have only had them 2 weeks but so far I really like them. Their appearance takes a bit getting use but the handling and wet performance seems very good. I have an autocross soon and I will give an update after that.

I also looked at Michelin PS2, Avon M500 and Goodyear F1 G3. PS2s are to pricey for me. I have had other Avons and really liked them on my Audi A4. They flat-spotted every morning and takes several miles before they smooth out but great tire for the price. It takes an "act of Congress" for me to purchase any Goodyear after having many bad ones over the years but the F1-G3s really seem like they are incredible on the performance side. I did not purchase them mainly since most people did not get many miles out of them.

how is the AVON M500 tire expensive, the fronts are $100 each and the rear is $180. seems like the best deal in town.

PS2s are expensive not the Avons. Based on my experience the Avons are a good tire at a great price. The flat spotting was my only issue with them.

Default How many miles to expect on the Contis?

The OEM tire sure seems to ride well, what has been the experience with folks here regarding the longevity of the tire?

I have PS2 from Mich. they are a great tire, they never squeal, and are very predictable in corners, I can easily sense when they are going to break loose. They will grip and grip real good, then if you keep pushing them hard in a corner they will slowly start to slide out. Some cheaper tires will not let you know this, or where the limit is until your hit their breaking point and wham! before you know it your spinning like a top. Michelin has done their rubber engineering on that tire. Thumbs up here!

I had Contis All Seasons (OEM) with 15k on them and they still had a little tread on left until my first autocross.
