Default Off and On rattle

Greetings,

I'm new here. I decided to register after browsing the internet trying to figure this out...

I have an 04' coupe. Sometimes I hear a slight rattle on the rear drivers side. What could this be?

I did a search but I guess I wasn't using the right key words.

If it sounds like it's in the rear, it could be the hatch. Mine was really bad. It is easy to fix though. Open the rear hatch, on both sides, you'll see a black, plastic, bumper with an adjustment screw that, when closed, rests on the body inside the hatch channel (pretty lame arrangement). Just loosen the screws and slide the bumpers down as far as they will go and still allow the hatch to close. Once you get that set, tighten the screws down extremely tight. you may even want to use some thread locker.

Hope that helps.

Or, crawl up under the muffler... on both sides of the muffler are hooks that are supposed to have big rubber "O" rings that connect the muffler to the frame... One of mine broke at about 1,000 miles and caused a rattle in the rear...

At 6'1, I got in the trunk and listened while my girl friend drove. It's coming from the rear drivers side tire area.

Maybe it's the rotary...I have a warrenty...I'll have the dealer check it out. Any more info. on this would be appreciated. Thanks, great helpful forum...I can see myself here often.
