Got a call from a local dealer today turns out they put washer fluid in my antifreeze overflow tank. They assure me I have not had it in there very long it looks like it happened at my last oil change with them. TWO F-ing months ago. I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN LONGER I HAVE BEEN IN AND OUT OF THAT SHOP AT LEAST 10 times. Chrysler wants nothing to do with it. I am still under factory warranty but they told me this may void my 8 year 80,000 extended service plan. They also told me I need to take it up with the dealership who I have had nothing but problems with. I saw my car today torn apart because of fixing a condenser or and evaporator to get rid of the ac smell. With my steering wheel sitting on the shop floor face down. Not happy need thoughts on how far I should take this. My brother is the head of parts there he is not happy and we are also friends of the family with the owner. HELP what can I do what do I do? Is this going to hurt my car in the long run?

 

You mean washer fluid in the recirc tank ? Nah... Just have them flush the radiator and refill with the proper fluid / water... And then Re-flush it again after you drove it 500 miles... that's just to **** them off. Or you can demand a new water pump and radiator... Make it their choice...

PS: how did they realize that there was washer fluid in the recirc tank ? That's the question I would be asking !!! Does someone in the service department have a problem with your brother in the parts department ?

 

Exactly! Drain, flush and re-fill. Not a serious problem as it is mostly water anyway, with maybe some alcohol added. It would tick me off as well, but if that made it your worst day ever...you've had a charmed life.

 

They played it off today like it came from the factory stock with blue coolant HDDP you would know the answer to that one is that true or not possible.

 

No problem with my brother they called him down to say look the color up and tell us what it is supposed to be?? he looked it up its supposed to be orange.

 

Good, because I couldn't have answered that question anyway since it has been almost two years since I've had the OEM "anything" in the car... Sorry... Some things I can answer in a heartbeat... others ???
