2008 Chrysler Sales Event
T'morrow nite all or most Chrysler dealers are holding a major preview of their 2008 Model line. I plan on going to see what I can learn about Crossfire availability for 2008 as we've read in Autoweek. Can I get some help and get some of you other members to attend your local events and see what you're told? It'll be curious to see if there is any consistency among the Dealer network. There are supposed to be giveaways and other stuff so it shouldn't be a total loss. I'm really curious to see if there is any consensus on what they're doing with the XF. Thanks.
I will be going to the dealer near my house in Aurora, Illinois tomorrow night as well. I will post with anything that I find out about the 2008 Crossfire.
Is there any truth in this article ??
That merger is ending with the sale of Chrysler to Cerberus Capital Management, but the Crossfire will soldier on. The 2008 model goes into production this summer, adding a tire pressure monitoring system and other minor changes.

Which dealer are you going to Tony? Missed you Sunday at the beach, James from Westbury came and said he looked for you guys at Airport Plaza. Hope to see you this Sunday if not at the Chrysler dealer. I'll be going to Huntington Chrysler/Jeep.
I will also be attending, I was invited by two different dealers in my area...I will be going to the one that is offering free food...lol. If nothing else it should be an interesting event...I am also very much interested in the 300 SRT8.

I am going to Grand Prix where I bought my XFIRE.
Sorry I missed the beach this past Sunday - family problems...
I will be there two weeks from now 8/26/07.
I'm going to Security in Amityville, sorry i missed the beach and James, i will be there 8/26.
James, when you tell us your going to be there and we are waiting you don't show up, will you be there 8/26?
Maybe you shouldn't tell us.

Whatever this sales event is, it has effectively killed the value of my (mint condition) 2004 Crossfire (only 21,000 miles). Blue Book, NADA and Edmunds all had my car worth about 21k just a few months ago, but that has steadily come down and a dealer yesterday told me the best they could do was $14k on my car because Chrysler was offering $7k rebates on new models.
I love my Crossfire, but was looking to trade in - but the car is definitely worth more than $14k to me. Looking on the bright side, me and my Crossfire will be together for many years to come now!

I spoke with my friend who runs a Chrysler dealer here in So. Cal. to get the 411 on a potential 2008 Crossfire that I posted earlier... He said they just sold their last new 2006 SRT6 that was on the lot for the WHOPPING price of $28,000... That's 20K less than the original selling price.
I bought my Limited in March 2004 for nearly 10k more... Now you know why I turned it into a race car REVENGE.

A couple of years from now resale values will even out. Since there were no significant changes done to the car during the run I think mileage and condition will largely determine the actual resale value after a few years have passed. I'd pay more for a 2004 with really low miles than a 2006 with a ton of miles on it ! I mean, it's really the same car, nothing changed except the paint colors and trim details.

I also like that there weren't a whole lot of options. Automatic transmission and navigation are about it. Makes it easy to figure relative value. Plus, it's really funny when dealers advertise "loaded" Crossfires.
It's really amazing how clueless some of the dealers and sales people are.
I wish I had a dollar for every 4.0 liter Jeep advertised with a "V6" engine...
