Default Anyone using HIDs without relays?

Ok, I don't have relays for the HID kit I just installed. They work perfectly and none of the bulb-out lights are lit. Will it damage the car's wiring without relays?

Just bought some. Cheap insurance I suppose.

Cool Re: Anyone using HIDs without relays?

I have the McCulloch 6,000K kit and they were installed by my dealer...no relays needed, no bulb out light.

No relays needed with the McCulloch 6,000K's. They use less current than the standard lamps and the starters are very good. I'm not sure if that's the case with the kits that are made in Japan though.

Wow, I'm surprised at the responses actually. I thought most people would say to use the relays. I read some info. that scared me a bit. As the ballasts age, they tend to draw more amps on initial start up. As this happens, the stock wires can fail or blow fuses. The relays eliminate this possible problem by using an inline fuse and the relay (of course). So, in theory, the inline fuse will blow before anything happens to the stock wiring. I bought a complete plug N play harness on ebay for about $30 bucks. Pretty cheap insurance if you ask me.
