Default The Crossfire a 'Girly' car?

So a guy at my work keeps saying i own a 'girly' car. I asked him what's so girly about it. He said the riggies on the hood and it looks so girly. He drives a 350Z... i told him i see more babes driving a Z than ANYONE driving a Crossfire. I see about 1-2 Crossfires a month and about 15-20 Z's a month. So i ask what makes a girly car besides the paint job and bumper stickers?

I just want to hear your guy's opinions.

I see chicks driving 350z's, solstice, sky's, miatas, etc, I have yet to see a girl drive a crossfire here in South Carolina (my wife did drive it once because she asked to) :-). I think he's just trying to get under your skin, the hood is anything but girlie, its nostalgic from the 50's. My neighbor (a 50 year old lady) drives a 350z for gods sake.

Cool Re: The Crossfire a 'Girly' car?

350z's are a dime a dozen (except the Nismo)...can't throw a rock without hitting one. He is dealing with his own masculine insecurities, thats why he bought a 350z in the first place...he also suffers from "Cerebral Rectal Displacement"...he's got his head in his a$$!!!

You should have pulled his hair and scratched his eyes out.

I don't think it's girly.
But a friend of mine said to me 'isn't that car a little feminine for you?'
Another friend (girl) said the car was 'absolutely adorable.'

I really don't care. I do know that I dig it as does my wife, and that's enough for me.

I've seen plenty of women driving these. I don't think it's as girly as a Miata, but I can see why some people would say that: it's a small two-seater. Still think it's a cool looking car.

I could see if you had a yellow roadster...but not a black coupe.

I do like your original response as I see more women in 350's here in Sarasota than men.

Also, is his 350 a manual or Automatic? If he bugs you again, ask him why your "girly" car is a stick and his "manly" car is an auto.

Oh, forgot to mention, I do see women driving Crossfires some. Actually, the lady across the street from me has an Aero Blue LTD Coupe.
I see a lot of women driving Corvettes though.

Not that there's any thing wrong with that.

Girls and guys drive the same cars today. There's no such thing as a girly car. In fact look at this forum. What's the majority.

This is what I have noticed. The women I usually see driving the XFire don't seem very aware of their car. Its more like just a car to them. The men I see driving it (the majority) are very aware of it being an XFire and I almost always get a wave or thumbs up... except the men who are on cell phones...

That's mostly because girls just don't do forums...

Here is one article...
http://ezinearticles.com/?Male-vs.-F...nces&id=321843

The above article holds true that few women really care much for performance, and have a very different perspective on luxury like our Crossfire Humidor definitely does not appeal to them...

I see VERY VERY few drivers of AMG, M Series, R Types, V Series, ever being woman... Matter of fact I can't recall a single M3, M6, or many AMG model drivers being woman.. yet I have seen men in just about any car...

I have read in the past that studies show different percentage of male vs female purchasers of the car.. crossfire does NOT rank as a feminine purchase what's so ever...

I remember asking a woman what's important to them in a car most of them struggle to answer this question, as woman usually struggle to answer any concrete question when you ask them about what they want, but I was able to get some answers and they were things including, light doors, needing others to like their cars, not feel the road, quiet, many other things along those lines that I personally think of last when buying a car..

When I think of feminine cars the first things that jump to mind are cars like the ML, Various Minivans, Rav4, Mitsu Eclipse, Toyota Celica, Beetle...

Every car on the road has been called a "chick car" by someone.

no matter where you go or what you drive, there is gonna be
some "car snob" give you a put down.
the girly thing is one of the top ones.
from what i've seen at other forums, it is ubiquitous.
these are some of the most ignorable people there are.
don't argue with an idiot, they just drag you down
to their level and beat you with experience.

Absolutely, the Crossfire is a chick's car. A "pick up chicks" car, that is!

I see women look at my car all the time. I wish I could say it was me they're looking at, but alas... the car gets the glory, not I.
