Thumbs down Not that cool

If crossfires are so cool and so sweet then why can't I sell mine? I cant even get anyone to come and look at it. Nothing is wrong with it and its never been in an accident. Blue book on it is around $19,300 and I'm only asking $16,500 and still, not even one phone call to come and test drive it. The dealer only wants to give me $12,000 and I owe more than that. These cars are average.

Ever hear of self fulfilling prophecy? You think average about the car, it will only return average price!

No, these cars are undervalued. A small two seater has a very small market, because it will suit the needs of a very small number of car shoppers. It's a niche vehicle. If someone has 2 kids or more than one friend and needs a set of wheels to get them around, a Camry, Accord, Taurus, Grand Am, Altima, etc. will do, not a Crossfire or any other tiny two-seater, no matter how cool it is. My Xfire is my daily driver. If I had any kids, I would not be a Crossfire owner. Dealers don't want to give you much because they know it will probably be a while before they sell it, because it won't meet the needs of most of the customers who visit the lot. Add to that the Chrysler brand has taken such a beating, it's practically synonymous with failure in the mind of the public.

Another reason you can't get squat selling the car used is because anyone with a brain in their head would be wise to only buy from the dealership, because all new crossfires come with a lifetime warrantee.

Did you try getting a quote from carmax, you might be able to suck them in for $15k.

Yeah I would love to take it to carmax the problem is they don't have any in Michigan. Thanks for the input. You would think that at least one person would have called to test drive it though, just frustrated and venting. I cant purchase a home until I sell this car.

How long have you had it for sale? My daughters boyfriend had a 350z, took him 3 months to sell.
Did you buy you're "average car" new or used?

You asked us "If Crossfires are so cool and so sweet why cant i sell mine?" I want to know why did you buy one?

It depends on where you sell it, too. If I took my Xfire back to Carmax right now I would get more than I paid for it.

You might as well get used to owning it, because no one is going to buy it for anything more than $14k on the street. It's permanently yours forever. It's just not worth selling for such a loss. You could maybe use it for a bank loan on $25 grand, as collateral, maybe?

You have to understand that the kind of money your asking is harder to come by now a days, as compared to just a year ago.

I used this same jedi mind trick on the dealer when I bought my wife's. I told him I guarantee this will still be here in a couple days cause most people are looking for family cars. He ended up knocking another $1,200 off the car and got it to the payments I wanted.

Nice trick, I'll have to remember that one when I start looking for an SRT6.
