Newbe-looking, questions
I just sold my Porsche 911 and am really looking hard at the Crossfire. The cars looks are something like no other. This car is the only one my wife looks twice at and loves. That helps. Where do I start? I'm looking at a 2005 red, 5spd, limited, 21,000 miles... The other, white, 11,000 miles, limited, 5 spd. both around the same price. Whats the thing that pops up in the console, a cup holder or cell phone holder? Any issues I should look at? Tires seem very expensive, no spare, right? How's the motor, good to go or will it need lots of work down the road. It seems like there are a thousand of these for sale on all the sites, why is this? Thanks for any reply's, because I'm ready to pull the wire and buy.

I traded an Mercedes ML320 for mine which has the same engine. The engines are very durable. The only problem I ever had with the ML320 was a crank position sensor. I believe the cars are incredible values when you compare it to the Mercedes SLK320. For less than the cost of tires I switched to 18" wheels and tires, which give you a huge choice of tires and prices. My car has 41,000 miles and doesn't have a single squeak or rattle. These are very solid cars!
Also coming from a Porsche you may want to look at the SRT6, 330 HP Supercharged MB AMG engine. For a few dollars more than the Limited its the biggest bang for the buck, either way you won't regret it.
Take a look at the SRT6, they have a load more power, & the prices are a Steal right now. Maybe $5,000 more than the Ltd, but they cost about $12,000 more than the Ltd, Originally.
Lots of Ltd owners have gone up to the SRT6, with the Great Prices & it shows how much they love the Crossfire & the Ride.

That about sums it up !!!
It's a SPORTS CAR; use both hands to DRIVE.
My solution to the cupholder issue..."Here honey, hold this!"

To the originator of this post -
I originally bought a Limited Coupe, then traded it for an SRT Coupe (same color) about 3 months later. I'd strongly suggest that you drive both of them before buying either.
They are BOTH a steal right now...best priced semi-luxury performance you will find, hands down. Bang for buck is outrageous on these cars right now.

I don't care what the thing between the seats is for, cup or cell phone, remember, I had a Porsche 911. No cup holders in that thing, ('86) because it was made to be driven, not a latte-super-mocca, while driving down the road. I have an eye on a '05 with 20,000 miles, 1 owner, red, 5 spd. I can get it for $15,200. Question: when you buy a Chrysler, does the 7 year/70,000 mile warrenty go with, or is it extra cost? Also, my local dealer does not work on these, closest is 25 miles away. Does this sound like a concern? Also, is only premium fuel used in these? Thanks for any reply.
Yep, only premium fuel. I would think the warranty would stay with the vehicle. And as far as the nearest repair shop being 25 miles away - that's up to you as to whether or not it's a problem.
Well, I'm still looking at 3 xfires. Funny, I just got back from a 1,000 mile trip through Chicago, Wisc. and Ind.
and I saw 2, yes 2, crossfires. Lots of vettes, porsches, etc, but only 2?. Man, these xfires are one rare car, which is nice. I'm looking at the 3 cars, one white, one black, and one red. All have between 11,000 to 20,000 miles, which to me is great. I just can't figure out why someone would trade off a car just barely used. I guess its funny that I see so many for sale, but few on the road. What's the opinion, 6 spd or automatic. All are priced less then $16,000. Like someone said, lots of bang for the buck. If I got the porsche I want, it would be twice the price. Anyway, just some thoughts.
