which cars can we beat, keep up with, smoke, or run from?!

Z28
boxster
GTO
350Z (just being honest)
cayman
new altima (3.5)
g35s/g37
mercedes slk 350
wrx sti
lancer evo
any M series bmw
svt lightning f-150
mustang cobra
passat w8
r32 golf
srt-8 charger/300
cars you can hang with/beat (common cars):
mustang gt (interstate)
solstice (slowstice)/sky
v6 mustang and camaro
civic si
rx8
base z4
lotus elise
s2000
miata
tiburon
c4 and older corvette
srt-4 (stock)
charger r/t
probably the most expensive car a regular crossfire can keep up with (in a straight line) is a regular naturally aspirated lotus elise (not exige).
as far as "smoking" vehicles, try racing a stock '98 civic. that's about the only thing you'll leave behind in a matter of seconds (unless you race a 4-cylinder truck or something.

Drag Race ---- Freeway---- No I get them in the hills and kick there ****.....
The other day on the way to class, I have to drive a very curvey road, and before I got to the first corner I had a cobra mustang that wanted to play. I was in the lead and after 3 turns I could not see him any more.... Just like good fighter pilots you have to know what your machine can do best and exploit the other weakness.
2004 Stock Coupe
Pilot Sport tires. I have on order GY F1 All Seasons.
Oh and yes dont mess with my 2006 Jeep Commander with the 5.7 Hemi. All wheel drive and power. Have not lost yet off the line......

I noticed that a lot of people here are saying that the crossfire is not a "fast" car. I would say that it is very undersetimated. I have a 05 base 6spd, and I beat a 5spd auto like it is standing still off the line, and I easily pass it on the highway. The only mods I have are lowered, K&N filters, and removed the back 2 cats from the exhaust (which sounds AMAZING by the way) so I don't have much more than stock, maybe 5hp at the most. With that being said, the 6spd vs 5spd are 2 different cars. I have beaten new mustang GT's, porsche boxter, cayman, and did well against the boxter S. My car is a perfect match for the E36 M3. I was on I-75 running with one from Tampa to Naples, and we would trade off taking the lead, and neither of us could pull away from eachother, and we were hitting speeds of about 140MPH (my girlfriend by the way was in the passenger seat and had no idea how fast we were going while she was playing with her cell phone. The only hint is the exhaust note) I've beaten altimas, maximas, camerys, any 3 series orther than the new 335, and many more. I raced a Z, took him off the line, then he passed early in second, and I started to catch up in 4th. I have a feeling that if we kept going, i would of taken him at the end.

Now, a Boxster would be a fun race, but a Boxster S would take us down fairly easily.
I love beating up cars in my 6 speed xf, I had a 2006 mustang GT before the xf and it WAS faster than the xf in a strait line, but handling sucks, thats why I traded it

I'm glad to see there is some interest in making these cars faster. As many of you may know our car has a fair amount of mods done to it and is raced on a regular basis. I would just like to clarify some things...
First, Stock we have 215HP and put down about 174 RWHP, add that to a 3200 curb weight and the only thing we are taking down are 15 second cars (Civics, Z4 2.5i, Solstice, Miata, etc.) These trap 93-94 mph speeds bone stock. There is not one person that can get this car to run a mid 14 stock, not one.
Second, These cars can be made to go faster. With the mods that we have done we've managed a 14.6 @ 96 MPH. We've put down 200RWHP and have kept the stock weight. With our setup we are much closer to beating GT's, Boxsters, but still no where near and M3. An M# is SRT6 territory. We have since added some ignition mods and an ECU tune and will be hoping for a 13.9-14.1.
Third, Please respect these cars for what they are. They are not drag strip monsters, they are GT road cars. An SRT6 is out of the box fast, the base and limited need a little help. We're shooting for 250RWHP for under 5K. With that power to weight ratio you can beat up on all the Stangs and Boxsters you want, and possibly an M3 or two.

For the record a 6 spd base coup will beat an auto 350z badly and win by about 1/2 a car against a manual. This is from expierence tried it 3 or 4 times per car, my buddies are nissan nuts. dont even bother with rx8s they are horribly slow off the line.
I know what it won't out run ! ....... 07 Charger R/T Police Special !

The Cross Fire "looks faster" sitting still than most cars do while their in motion!! lol I've only driven mine about 6 times since I bought it last fall (is now sitting out the winter waiting for good weather) , but I've had alot of Subaru's , Honda's , Pontiac GTP owners bugg'n me to run them. I just tell them I did'nt buy the car for that purpose and that if they really want to race I'd be more than happy to get out the T/A. The conversations usually end there since most of the guys bugg'n me are my co-workers that have already seen or heard about the T/A. lol There are alot of smooth fast curvy back roads where I live , when I need relief , I go there in the Cross Fire , the Amish kids love the car and wave all the time when I go by....lol. I believe the Cross Fire is a great performer in stock outfit , it does what it is intended to do. Some folks see that and just have to try and get a piece of it to make themselves feel better about what they are driving , so be it. If somebody on the road wants to get it on...fine , if I lose...no big deal , I'll see them again someday , maybe in the T/A. lol
just to put this in. i was very surprised last night. my friend with a semi modded WRX raced my 6speed last night. he was in second and i was in 3rd we took off and right away i started creepin away. by about 120 i was atleast 1 and a half to 2 cars.
This Car is not red light to red light car ,but top end is great ,ran wiith a Maxima 3.5 on I80 west neb. for about 100 miles now maxima ran with me up to about 120 mph , but over that i was gone . I must say the crossfire rides just good at 135 as it dose at 55 . On the other end i have 2006 Dodge Charger R/T R/T Now that Car is red light to red light car fun to drive but not at 135 ! Like some have said, get to know your car ,Alot of nice back roads in kentucky and they are alot fun in my crossfire .
i also raced a wrx impreza (non STI) i won but lets just say if u ever come across one that says STI DONT race it! lol! unless of course your xfire says SRT-6 on the back
