Hypothetical Question

Personally, I really don't know what I would do, because I can't think of any car currently produced that could give me the SAME feeling that I get when I'm in my Crossfire.
I love the Cayman, but not enough to buy one.
I like the Vette, but there's just too many of them.
The Mustang Cobra's OK, but I can't get beyond the fact it's a FORD.
My only alternative would probably be to resort to finding a car from the past. A '63 - '67 Vette coupe, or as new of a Acura NSX I could afford, but neither one would take my Crossfires place.

Oh my Gaud!!! The world is spinning to it's doom... If the Crossfire is dangerous due to an engineering fault, and Mercedes Benz is known to be at the top of the game for engineering, then it all relates back to Physics that has a theoretical flaw, that means that the universe as we know it is doomed to imminent implosion. I wouldn't worry about getting a new car, I'd just sit back and have a cold beer.

I need my toy to be an open car so I'd likely go with the Audi TT Roadster although the Corvette would definitely be an option (and I can't believe I'm actually saying that as I've never really been a 'Vette guy at all!!). Of course, if this scenario were to actually happen, Chrysler would only give us credit towards another Chrysler product so I'd probably have to forgo the drop top and get a Challenger. Unless they'd let me take a Viper roadster then, well, end of story.
But they'd put me into something comparable from a competitor, then the TT for sure. A recent trip to the OC Auto Show left me very unimpressed with the 350Z and as for the Mustang...I don't mean to offend, but the quality of the interior was simply abysmal in the GT convertible we looked at. $36,000 MSRP for a car with a $4 interior. Terrible.
