Goofy Nav unit
Goofy Nav unit
Is it me, or has anyone else noticed the Navteq routing info to be incorrect? Aside from the outdated 2004 information that's in there, I repeatedly find the Nav unit directs me to a route that is far from the fastest or most direct. Today, after requesting a fastest route, it put me through the downtown area and all the stoplights before putting me on an expressway that had been running parallel to me all along. Not a fast route; more like half-fast.
This unit has been the only technological letdown on the whole car. So in the grand scheme of things, no big deal. So those out there pining for the in-dash Nav unit, rethink that desire and pop for a TomTom.

Re: Goofy Nav unit
Yea, its quirky, no doubt. I have been trying to decide on an aftermarket headunit because the sound quality on the nav radio is poor in my opinion. The only hard part of that has been the loss of the navigation feature. Last night, it guided me to a place I never had been using only an address, and I remembered its usefullness, but at the same time, I think tomorrow night, it gets replaced by a nice JVC head-unit for better sound quality and MP3 playing ability.
