Mercedes Emblem

Now placing Karmann and "Powered by MB" badges on the Crossfire would be appropriate and the practice does have historical precedence. But to me, throwing on tristar emblems is akin to putting a Rolex dial on a Tudor watch....sure they are both made by Rolex Montre but only one was ever meant to wear the name and crown logo. All you'll be wearing is a Faux-lex....
I just ordered my new vanity licence plate for my XF and I went with "USABENZ" since the car is 80% Mercedes. I WILL how ever leave the orgional Chrysler/Crossfire badgeing on the car.

Putting an MB label on the car to hide the Crossfire Chrysler badge is kinda boasting and insulting at the same time.
Putting a "Powered By Mercedes" label is an understated way of correctly labeling the heritage of the car without being tacky or suggesting you are ashamed of the "commoness" of the Chysler name.
These cars are unique enough to sometimes need explanation.
Do it with gusto on the street or quietly in the parking lot.
But always do it with Class. Crossies deserve no less.

I personally wouldn't put an MB badge on my car unless I had to. I'm definately not offended if someone else want to though. I think my biggest gripe is someone trying to pass it off as a benz and not mention anything about Chrysler.

Not arguing....just making a statement and stand by it....2 years later
"Powered by Mercedes Benz is not in anyway a disgrace to the Chrysler name.

This will go on and on. Which is okay.
Auto mfg. has changed so much. Here in Alabama, we have dozens of suppliers providing interiors and hardware, engines and electronics and body panels and roof liners...........(well you get it)...............to the likes of Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Hyundai and Kia. And soon, also Volkswagen.
My point is that cars like ours and most others are becoming extinct.
ALL PARTS are being made out of house, and the name on the car is the company that ASSEMBLES the parts. (even that can confuse) In reality the one element that most companies still want their name on is the engine. (this takes care of the "powered by Mercedes" fans) However even this is not always going to be the case; especially as we move toward electric and new generation hybrids.
I personally love the early days of the behemoths. (30s and 40s, especially, and no I was not there) They were all really what they were and they gave you reason for love or hate without doubt.
Come to think of it , our little car is doing the same; except perhaps for those who just got a good deal and will drive it into the ground without care.
