So I took the plunge!
Just picked a 2004 Coupe white with 35K on it and made them give me some new tires on it,
they did it because the car was on their lot for 35 days and they had to get rid of it today lol. Car is super clean but I'm concerned about the warranty. The in service date is 11/21/03 and when I called chrysler they tell me that the car still has the 7/70K powertrain warranty on it but i'm not convinced when I see all these posts about paying $150 to transfer it. What do I do? Anyone know if I can still buy the extended warranty even though I'm outside the 4/48 limit by a few days?
Yeah i called them and they were closed.
Will try again tomorrow and I spoke to another person at Chrysler and they also said that the 7/70 powertrain warranty would transfer without any fees so at least I know I have that.
Congrats & Welcome to the Forum!!!
You can get an extended warranty, although since you are past the 4/48 limit I believe there will be an additional $250 charge.

If your 2004 Crossfire was built before 10/1/2003, the powertrain warranty is automatically transferred to the second owner and any subsequent owners as long as the vehicle is within the time and mileage limits of the warranty. No paperwork and no fees to pay, though there is a $100 deductible for any covered repairs.
If your 2004 Crossfire was built on or after 10/1/2003, the powertrain warranty can only be transferred if a $150 fee is paid by the 2nd owner within 30 days of purchase of the vehicle to any authorized Chrysler dealer. Third and subsequent owners are not eligible for the powertrain warranty. There is still a $100 deductible for any covered repairs. Rental vehicles are not covered by the powertrain warranty (though there is some ambiguity IMO as to whether that applies to vehicles that are no longer used for that purpose).
The date of manufacture of your vehicle is located on the edge of the driver side door frame or door opening. Judging by the in-service date of your Crossfire it was probably built before 10/1/2003 which is likely why the Chrysler dealer is telling you that it it covered. So, the first thing you should do is find the date of manufacture on the door.

Ah ok that makes sense because the in service date was 11/21/03 which would mean that the manuf date would probably be prior to October. I actually spoke to Chrysler 800# not a dealer, I tried to different times and both told me I would not need to transfer it so it sounds like i'm ok. I actually went with a different purchase from my previous post, I was on my way to purchase that one until I saw the Ad for the one I purchased and had to look at it because I wanted a white one over the grey, just happened to turn out that they did everything they could to let the car go that day below cost. Good timing I guess lol.
