Default mud/splash guards for Crossfire

I am the proud new owner of a Blaze Red 2007 Crossfire Coupe. Love it!!! I was wondering if there are any kind of mud/splash guards out there to fit a Crossfire. Chrysler doesn't carry any (already checked). Here in Pa., after a snow and they salt and ash the roads, they can become pretty nasty and I don't want all that stuff splashing on my car and chipping the paint. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

nothing available on the market for the crossfire specifically flap wise...

but you can always add clear 3M film to protect the areas behind the wheels, etc. (that's what i did).

congrats on the new car & welcome to the forum.

Thanks Andrew. Could you, or anyone else as far as that matters, tell me a little more, like where I can purchase this and what I would ask for when buying it? And please bear with me. This is the first forum I have ever joined, so I am kinda "winging" it. Not quite sure exactly what I'm doing yet. Love your white Crossfire Coupe. That was my color of choice but unfortunately they did not make a 2007 white/alabaster Coupe, just the Roadster and I wanted a coupe.

Andrew doesn't have his xfire anymore but I'm sure by the time the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle comes around he'll buy another one. He can't stand being away from us, he loves us.

poodle,

You can get the film from Cabela's. A $19.00 roll (Trimbrite Bodyguard Paint Protection Film - Item:IH-520817) will do both rocker panels.

~ this may help with a flawless install:

Clear Film Installation Instructions -

Items needed:

1. New large plastic spray bottle
2. Rubbing alcohol
3. Glass cleaner
4. Water
5. Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo (allows you to pull up and re-apply film for flaws or bubbles during install)
6. Heat gun/blow dryer
7. Minimum of 2 people to install (required for large pieces)
8. Lots of patience!

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Use factory touch-up paint on any stone chips, apply with a toothpick or a small artist brush. Allow paint to dry thoroughly.

2. Apply glass cleaner to paint surface, allow glass cleaner to soak. Re-spray and remove with a lint free towel. This removes any dead/remaining bugs on the paint surface.

3. Apply straight rubbing alcohol on a towel, apply to paint surface where clear film will be applied. This removes any remaining wax.

4. Mix solution: water, rubbing alcohol, and a cap full of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. Shake well.

5. Start with smallest pieces first.

6. Saturate first area where film will be applied on the car.

7. Spray finger tips with solution to avoid leaving print on the film.

8. Remove film from paper and saturate adhesive side of film with solution, re-spray car surface. The wetter the better.

9. Line up film, and saturate front of film.

10. Squeegee from the inside/out, pushing bubbles outward to the edge of the film.

11. Pull up if necessary to remove flaws, re-soak and re-squeegee.

12. Repeat for each piece.

13. Use heat gun/blow dryer for adhering loose edges. Squeegee. Be careful not to wrinkle film by using too much heat.

14. Apply largest pieces last.

15. Keep all surfaces wet/saturated at all times, until set in place.

Flaws will be present after installation, don’t be alarmed. Park the car in the direct sunlight to aid with flaw removal. Don’t be judgmental until at least a week after installation. Almost all flaws/moisture under film with evaporate with time.

I have installed over 200 kits... so i'm rather experienced & hope my diy aids with your install... cheers !
