Cabin Filter and Base Coupes
Its possible that it was the 04 build year when they were still maybe including them for a short time, your vin number is fairly lowish, so IDK.
I picked up a Purlator (non-carbon) at Automotive Discount for $24 and change. Works great. The factory one was still in there and as black as the brake dust on my front rims (my next project with the new Rotex pads I ordered).
Thanks to Andrew and Valkyderguy for posting the pics of the filter. Just got through checking mine, what a pain in the asprin. 6'2" and 50lbs. overweight makes for hard work to get in the footwell to get that panel off the filter
Thanks a lot for the info guys, I will be replacing mine tonight with the oil change, both firsts for me on this car. I am excited to see if the factory one is completely shot or if it has been replaced before, I am at 42K miles, but have only had it a few months and a few thousand myself and do not know how well the original owner maintained the car (always garaged extra fun car for him, so hopefully he did, but who knows).
Just replaced the cabin air filter on my wife's 2007 base coupe. Used a Purolator from Advance Auto that cost about $23. Car only has 9632 miles on it, but what the heck. I think I'll do it as an annual type thing after the pollen has finished in late spring. We get a lot around here in Hampton Roads, VA. It was a different thickness from the stock filter so I was worried it wouldn't fit. It went in nicely. Instructions came with the filter but only said you need a screwdriver. No mention about a Torx T-15. Good thing I have a set. Awkward positioning too to work on it! Thanks to previous guys with info on the change and Andrew's pics.

Brian,
I was wondering if you had changed the cabin filter in your 737 yet? LOL
We ***** about oil changes, I bet one in that thing is ridiculous...

I have an 07 base coupe, I'm trying to determine if a cabin air filter is in the car, or if one can be installed.
05XF-LVR - We just change the people!! Oil changes are no big deal, when we get low, we just add some more. Capacity is about 4.5 gallons - good thing we don't use synthetic!!
The box by the battery that holds the RCM, ECM etc also has a fan motor that pulls air from INSIDE after the filter to cool these precious ( and costly ) jewels ..........
