Default side marker lights question

Hi all,

I just got my clear side marker lights and was just curious on how many of you used the original bulbs. Should I change the bulbs or will it look ok with the stock bulbs. Thanks!

i went with a white bulb... b/c i think the yellow behind the clear lense looks like an ugly egg yolk effect during the day...

or...

you could purchase bulbs like the ones below... that light up yellow but aren't as apparent behind the clear lense when turned off.

This may sound stupid, but I thought the law requires them to be yellow?

ha i just installed them and did not realize they stuck out the way they did as opposed to the stock ones who sit plush on the body. Looks weird but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Its a one peice unit and they just pop right out, you can use a flat head screwdriver but be careful not to scratch the paint. I just stuck some tape on the end of it so it would not scratch and they popped right out.

~ use a drivers license or credit card to avoid scratching the paint... slightly pry forward and the lense will come loose.

there is a spring clip toward the front that holds the lense in place.

I use the stock lamps in mine. I think it looks best with the Alabaster. Although with the HID's I was considering trying a light blue tinted lamp. I've not yet found the right match. No problems with the law yet either.

we also sell the chromed yellow light bulbs, so you dont have the egg effect. also the front and rear repeater bulbs in chromed eliminate the yellow in the tail- and headlights.

That's why I love this place!! Had the light come on in the dash, checked, sure enough, bulb out on the drivers side marker. On my way to Autozone for two replacements.
