Engine Loses Power
04 Crossfire Coupe
Hello All,
Last week, I hit a patch of ice while pulling out of a parking lot and spun around pretty good. After this happened, the car lost all power and even when floored, it was like you were barely pressing the gas. I pulled off, shut it off, restarted, and it was fine. NOW, ever since then, 3 times this has happened again. Yesterday it happened after barely burning the tires pulling out on the highway. I'm not sure if its some sort of emergency mode it goes in, or if its related to the traction control. I thought I read somewhere about some mode it goes in if it thinks you've been in an accident, but it shouldn't be doing it everytime I barely spin the tires. My low tire light is on too, I'll be taking care of that today, but I wouldnt think that would matter. Oh, and yesterday after it happened, it through the check engine light. I had it checked and it was a throttle postition sensor error of some sort...

Synchronizing ESP
If the power supply was interrupted (battery disconnected
or discharged), the BAS/ESP malfunction indicator
light may be illuminated with the engine running. To
re-synchronize the ESP, and cancel the malfunction indicator
light, the steering angle sensor will need to be
recalibrated.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position.
2. Rotate the steering wheel to the center position.
3. Rotate the steering wheel completely to the left, and
then rotate the steering wheel completely to the right.
4. Bring the steering wheel back to the center position.
5. The BAS/ESP malfunction indicator light will go out.
If the BAS/ESP malfunction indicator light is still illuminated,
the vehicle should be serviced at an authorized
dealer.
