Default Resetting OEM Nav

Been using the TomTom lately instead of the OEM indash nav. But I noticed today the OEM now has no GPS lock on any of the satellites. There has been no power inturruption and I have the CDs, but I can't re-calibrate the thing. I scoured the instruction manual but had no luck.

It would be nice to have a working nav as a backup, and if it is truely frogged, I might as well get it replaced while its under warranty. Any recommendations?

Did you follow the reset instructions in the manual?

Is it the triggering Reset section on page 107? Did that today with absolutly no effect. I'll try again tomorrow.

When I had my Crossfire with the Navigation system ~ that happened to me several times. What I did was to insert the Nav CD ~ let it reset itself <a minute or so> then took the Nav CD out and everything worked as normal. Hope that helps. Thom

The manual says to press the #1 and #3 multifunction keys at the same time you press the OPT key. That should reset it. The first two times it did not work. The third time I was in Radio mode insted of Nav mode and the reset worked.

So the Nav's as good as new albeit with 3-year old map info...

Just throwing an idea out there but could it be the TomTom navigation system is interfering or scrambling the OEM nav system's links to satellites?

Just stay out of those new constructed areas and it works like a charm.
