Can anybody give assistance with decoding these numbers as to meaning and possible significance to the series or individual car. I'm not even sure how common these are to have. This document was in the owners manual when I purchased as 2nd owner.
The numbers I'm sure of:
Fahrgestell Nr = VIN Number
8/31/04 = Build Date (I was told actual was 08/30/04 between 12AM and 1AM)
Auftrags-Nr = Order Number - Not sure what generated this number, whether it relates to the car or line.
Karmann-Nr = Factory number of some sort
FAPS-Nr = ???
99605 XXL = ???

It looks like a shipping tag for the port it was sent to. Those are factory codes they use to identify what came with the car. As far as decoding them I don't have a clue. These are srt6 order codes that are similar to give you a rough idea. http://www.majormotorshotrods.com/_d...er%20Codes.htm

 

I'm pretty sure the 1404 KG is the weight of the car....1404 kilos = 3088 pounds...sounds about right for our cars.
