Possible owner - looking for input
Finally getting rid of a small pickup and a beat down kia sephia this year. I have a full size crew cab for family, but cant pull away from this car. Even lowers my insurance! Looks fantastic, good handling, and the srt6 version has the power I would want. The prices in atlanta are inflated though so Im looking in nearby states- cheapest being in FL for some reason.
The hardest part will be convincing the wife. I’m already rebuilding an 89’iroc that’s been mothballed and owned by the family and it’ll be great little classic next year. But I want something to have some fun with driving 50 miles to work everyday. Altima se-r would be more practical with the 4 door option, but this car just looks to be a unqiue ride to much of anything else on the market even with it’s concept dated some 6 years now. And with the price reductions slamming down to affordability, I’m intrigued to find a good price and sneak one home and lose the wife brownie points. A crew cab should be enough vehicle to haul 2 little kid around is my excuse
So anyway, I’m looking and wanted some input from folks really using these as daily a commuter. What are you spending to keep her running, tire life, etc. I fear just driving it through Atlanta’s smacktard 500 run and maintenance since I could probably slam 20k miles on it easily each year. And I can make a driving change to keep the body in shape by driving the cow country roads all the way back. With the price now, it seems reasonable for a car in the 10’s bracket instead of 40-50k.
Would also be interested in replacing the stock radio so I can get a mp3 coompliant radio from big box store. How easy was this change... seen some vehicles with no hope of replacing this like the rx8 and some 05 saabs.
