On the shelf in the garage where it belongs. If you don't already have holes in the bumper DON'T put it on.
To hell with the Illinois law I say.
I don't have mine on and I intend to keep it that way.

Don't do it if you don't have too. They look much better without them. If the dealer did not put the front bracket on, you'll have to drill two holes in the bumper. I don't know how you would determine the exact location of where the holes need to be drilled. It mounts in the center of the bumper.

well yea i hate the law but cops around my area look at me like crazy cuz im young and they are real jags. like i was thinkin of twist tieing it next to the intake. like we have our intake on the front bottom but we only use that little portion and the rest is for looks. so i was thinkin about just drilling two holes through the lil mesh then twist tieing it. what do you think?

I don't think you will be pulled over in crossfire, it is an old man's car and generally not very attractive to enforcement, besides I don't know the fine for your state, but here jersey its a $54 fix it ticket... have had it off the crossfire since 2006 have NEVER been even questioned about it's removal..

Take my words with a grain of salt though... but I know I wouldn't have the heart to drill holes in the front bumper

I believe that Illinois is $75 for not displaying a front plate.

Do a search. There was someone who came up with a bracket setup where you didn't have to drill holes.
I can't remember who it was. I think it bolted to the horns or something.

It pains my heart to see an Xfire with a license plate in front.

mine had the bracket installed already so i'm stuck.

besides, OHP loves to pull over cars without front plates when they're trolling for DUI's. i don't want to talk to one of them under any circumstance.

Why do you suppose the stock lower grills have those 3 holes?

I just un-buried mine for another forum member, and while looking at it, I saw that it is self-centering by virtue of being shaped to fit both the "point" (verticle) and the "fold" (horizontal) of the front bumper's contour.

I'm one of those "OHIO" criminals who hasn't put a front plate on my Crossfire yet, and I'm not going to until they threaten me with prison or worse.
But if ya just can't get away with it, then the "Cruizers" plate location is the least offensive I think. Besides, they even put a hole in the bumper to hold the bracket.

Not even that good +fireamx. Sorry 04Fire. Hope you didn't drill holes in the bumper to put it there.

My crossfire came with a front plate, and i actaully went out of my way to take it off.. now i have 2 holes in the bumper but its a lot better then a huge license plate (even with vanity plates). Mine was centered, which would probably look better (if you HAD to have it there). Only trucks should have their plates of to one side.

Why would you mount it like that ??
Regardless these cars are not designed to have anything in the front but open roads with no cops.
