Driver Door Problem
Anyone else have problems with their driver door closing, particurarly when its cold outside? My door doesnt close, no matter how hard or soft i swing it. It works perfectly when i roll the window down, but it seems to be more of an air pressure problem though.
And there's nothing stuck or in the way between the window & the seals? There's always way too many gaps in any car to allow too much back-pressure from building up in the passenger compartment so I wouldn't think it's an air pressure issue.
It's a weird problem, that's for sure.....

I notice the same issue occasionally if I dont close the door firm enough. It acts just like an air pressure build up. But in my case, both cars, I just open and try again with more umph! I like it actually as I look at it as a confirmation that the seals are all working well. My Limited did not do this.

This has been a problem for me on 3 different vehicles. A little test is:
Pop open the rear hatch just a bit. If the doors close properly, it IS just a too-tight car.
Or,
Crack open the OPPOSITE (passenger) window ~1/2".
Does the drivers door close OK?
Same answer.
Hope this helps,
Max

I have the exact same issue. If I crack one of the windows the car door closes easily like it should. Doesn't always do it, but it does it more than not. Drives me crazy. I had asked a dealer to adjust the door for me when I had it in for a warranty and they didnt do anything at, imagine that. lol If there is an easy fix, I would love to know what it is. On the other hand, when the door is closed, I suppose with it sealing that tightly, I dont have to worry about leaks.

Easy fix?
Heck yeah, just drill a 1/2" hole in the roof!

The window (in my case) comes in contact with the weather striping along the roof (top part of the door frame)... in cold weather the weather stripping isn't as pliable. So the window gets caught on the almost rock hard rubber. And are cabins are almost air tight... sometimes even in summer if you slam the door it wont close all the way.
Fix: Well, the window is about 1/2 millimeter to tall... if our roll it done about that much you shouldn't have a problem. It's worked for me for nearly 3 yrs now.

I have a similar issue with mine. I never seem to be able to find the right amount of force to close without slamming when it's cold outside. I do think it might be a pressure issue myself, since cold air is denser than hot.
I was having the sme problem with my driverside door on my 05 Limited Roadster !
Finaly the plastic cover over the door catch fell off (1 Screw holds the cover on) I replaced the screw and everything is tightened and working fine! Just try and tighten the 1 Screw i think it might do the trick!
