Crossfire as a unique option for new driver?
Well, it's happening sooner than I thought it would...I'm narrowing in on a Crossfire. The particular car is an 04 with 19,000 miles. Owner states that it's in
pristine condition. Only issue - ABS light is on. Car is out of warranty. Anyone know of any common issues that might cause the ABS light to come on at 19,000 miles? Would it need brakes at this time?
Thanks,
David

i say go for it! im 18 and i just got my crossfire not too long ago and i love it. its amazing! ive had no probs with it. no issues in the snow and. its a awesome car. i mean its like you said everyone has musangs and hondas n trucks n all that stuff. when i drive around in the xfire everyone is like wow. they stop to look cuz its not an everyday car. im positive that your son will love it. and its not bad on gas either. considering i get about 320 or plus miles to a tank.
IMHO, it's not a good winter driver (if there's snow on the road), so a back up truck is perfect. If he plays sports and has to drag gear around, be aware there is not a lot of trunk room.
Otherwise mine has been a very reliable car. I do mostly highway driving and get 27-30 mpg.
With no back seat, it takes some risk away when he dates. I can speak from experience, it's not easy to mess around in a Crossfire (of course, I'm not as motivated as a teen ager).
My son (17) always begs to drive mine and I have let him occasionally. But he doesn't get to take it on his own because he is careless and I'm keeping this baby ding-free.
