Runway Race
Alright guys.... Give me your opinion of the outcome:
'04 Crossfire Coupe - Stock
VS:
'04 Acura RSX - Stock
We're racing at our local airport... hehehe... We know the airport owner so no worries. I'll post some pictures when we do it which will hopefully be this weekend. Should be interesting. I'll do my best to make you all proud and give us a few more bragging rights. Wish I had a chip mod installed though before I did this. Any pre-race precautions I should take?

Yep, just another 'Responsible' 18 year old with a 500 HP car... 
Back on topic... be careful on runways, it's flat, but keep in mind what's OFF the runway. If you loose it, you should try and steer the car straight off and try to stop... DO NOT try and recover a skid... EVER.
If you are not an EXPERT (meaning you get paid to do stunt driving for major motion pictures or something similar) then I suggest you heed my warnings. If you know what you are doing, fine... I wish you good luck and a safe race.

All I'm saying is to be careful.
Braking distances in dry conditions with good tires:
60mph to 0 - 114 ft + 60 ft reaction time = 174 ft.
100mph to 0 - 319 ft + 100 ft reaction time = 419 ft.
140mph to 0 - 630 ft + 140 ft reaction time = 770 ft.
0.5 miles = 2,640 feet.
0.25 miles = 1,320 feet.
Average base crossfire trap speed at 0.25 miles = 95mph
Assuming your brakes are working at 100%, a stomp on the brakes at the quarter mile line would put you at 900 feet from the end of the runway.
You might want to try something other than a drag race that you could do at any stop light. How about a cone slalom or something? Be creative
After all, we can already tell you who is going to win...

Thanks all.... I will definitely be careful. We'll have plenty of stopping distance... Not worried about the brakes... they SQUEAK a good bit but still work very well.
