Question Leak under car-Water ?!

Walked out to the car to go out and noticed it had a wet spot underneath it. Started the car, looked underneath and though I am aware of condensation coming off when the air conditioning is on, couldn't find anything that resembled a drain. This was just above the front crossmemember. Anybody have any ideas where clear water might come from under there? I know it's not coolant, fuel, or oil...just plain water. I'm totally stymied!? Ideas ? Thanks, Vern.

It has to be condensation. Did you have your defroster on?

Thumbs up Re: Leak under car-Water ?!

That's the only thing I could come up with too. Just want to make sure cause that was about 1/2 cup of water. Actually, however, I didn't even have the air conditioning or defroster on. Thanks for the quick response. Vern.

Did you fill the windshield washer reservoir? You can't tell when it's full it will just leak out from under the fender from the overflow tube.

When was the last time that you washed it? I can wash my car, dry it and then drive out the driveway and leave a trail of water. I assume that the water collects on the underbody engine cover.

It does seem like it drips forever after a car wash!
I wonder where all that water is coming from.

Thanks for the responses, but haven't filled the windshield washer since buying the car three months ago and haven't washed it in two weeks. It did rain the night before, maybe the rain went through the grill in front of the windshield and that's all it was. Didn't think about that til just now...hmmm, thanks again for the responses. 'preciate having this forum as a sounding board. Makes me a little less apprehensive about it being a for real hose leak or something. Vern.
