Default Dented

Just moments ago as I was backing out of my parking space, my friend grazed my rear right body panel just above the wheel well. The body panel is the same part that has the gas cap on it. The paint is slightly scuffed but nothing serious. However there is a light indent that runs from 3 inches above the middle of the wheel well about 12 inches towards the back of the car. After examining both sides of the car, its noticeably indented on the side that was impacted. Feeling around the wheel well I saw that there was no easily accessable way to reach the underside of the sheet metal.

Does anyone know if its possible to remove this indent by lightly pushing the metal out from the inside with a rubber mallet, etc.? Please let me know!

Thankyou.

Look for "Paintless Dent Repair" in the Yellow Pages?

You could try this it works pretty good if there is no crease in the dent. I used it on a car a few years ago and it did a good job. You might want to see what a pro would charge to have it done right though.http://www.dingking.tv/

Wonder if the hair dryer/airspray(those cans of compressed air they sell at computer places to clean your keyboard. trick would work? I was told by a dent dr. guy that did my dings a few years ago that if the paint is broken, or if the dent is on a crease or curve of the body you have to go the old route, the dent dr only works on a flat surface or semi flat surface where there is no break in the clear seal.

I second the idea of finding a dent Doctor. Dont try it yourself, it might get worse.

dry ice and a towel...pick up the ice with the towel and rub the ice on the spot in a circular motion. make sure there is a layer of towel between the ice and paint. at least thats what i heard works
