Well, Itsky, as long as she doesn't catch you "doing anything" with it you should be fine!

Well, it has passed. I like my car, and I get a fair ammount of ribbing from work, but it doesn't really matter to me. I was just taken by the ***** the guy had to say it, and then the lack of them to not stick around and defend what was said.

Negative comments like this can be annoying. The best way to handle them is to take the negative and turn it into a positive. I was at a stop light, in my s2000 and a guy told me how ugly the car was. I didn't bat an eye, looked him in the face and said "Yep it's bu_t ugly and thats the way I like it! By the way I like you too. Made my day.

Winston Churchill was approached by Lady Astor at a dinner party and she said to him " Why sir, you're drunk." His reply was " I may be drunk madam but your ugly and I'll be sober in the morning."

So to paraphrase Churchill:

Yeah it's ugly but so are you and I'm on my way to trade this car in.

Or a great comeback from Cheers. You're a puzzlement to me. Usually someone like you with limited physical appeal make up for it with a actual personality.

I have had nothing but good comments about my coupe. From crusty construction workers to MILFs, they all love it. I don't know what I would do if someone called it ugly. But I do like the Churchhill quote above. Maybe I will steal from him.

drive through a town in bfe then watch as everyone stops what they are doing to look lol. little kids points, old guys give you the thumbs up, its an awesome feeling know that your vehicle is the nicest car someone has seen in awhile, not to say because its expensive, but because its so unique! shawn we've chatted several times about different things, and as i and im sure many others know there are alot of people out there, particularly in this forum, that dont like my car.... at some point you just have to realize when someone sits there and has the nerve to tell you that your car is ugly then runs away, they are jealous. f- em lol

oh and kudos on the churchill quote!

I've only heard good comments thus far, but I do know that auto design like art is highly subjective. Personally, I love the Crossfire and I would guess that most folks on here like it too. But then I love the 1965-6 AMC Marlin, a car that few consider beautiful. Gee I wonder why I like it so much? Hmmm I wonder if Crossfire's designer, Stoddard, had visited an AMC meet at one point? hehehehe

Recently creamed a kid driving a VW Passat who was being a little too hasty and arrogant with his driving (probably trying to impress his friends, "look at me and my baby blue Passat" lol) after I finished him off and slowed down, had a guy fly up next to me in his SUV just to give me the thumbs up. I found that hilarious, but none the less a compliment.

Also recently got one from a guy driving a new 7 series. He pulled up next to me at a red light first to ask for directions-

"Hey, if I keep going this way I'll hit Harlem, right?."
"Yep. It's the next street up."
"What kind of car is that??"
"It's a crossfire."
"Do you like it?"
"Love it."
"That things fast I bet."
"Yeah, it's fast."

Lol. Had my trouble with cops for a while. I'm actually part of the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) and we're against street racing. I guess it was more of a road rage-ish incident. I'm actually participating in a effort with the local police force to end a street racing problem they've been having recently.

Has actually brought a conversation out with a local store manager about the crossfire. =D

How about the abortion child of Mercedes and Chrysler?

Got that from one of my friends, then I slapped him. I'd say he deserved it.

It takes all kinds. I've also only had one negative comment, but I considered the source and decided that they can't find anything positive about anythig and ignored them.

The car gets lots of looks and comments. I usually spend several minutes each time someone stops and looks at it asking questions.

On Sunday I was doing some tinkering on it and popped the hood. There is a die hard Corvette lover across the street hollered over if he could come check it out. He likes it and says he's been admiring the car since I bought it a few months ago. We got to talking about the exhaust and he likes how my stock set up sounds too.

I was at Circle K recently getting a refreshment (diet Pepsi btw), and had someone pull out of the gas pump area, drive into the parking spot next to mine, roll down the window and tell me how much they liked the looks of the car, then leave.

I had someone actually get upset that I wouldn't let them test drive it.

On another occassion someone walked by and said they always liked the "Spitfires"... I just smiled as I know she didn't mean anything condescending, and considering she walked up to the car from behind and I haven't debadged the car.......

I had a older couple get out of their car next to mine at the mall and tell me what a good looking car it was(SRT6 Aero).

They said they had a 911 and the best two days they had it was the day they bought it and the day they sold it! I've never heard that before.

Driving a Monte Carlo was he ? ... While he waxed eloquent about your ride, did you happen to notice whether he was missing a few chicklets ? - it's a pre-requisite for membership in MONTECARLOFORUM.ORG

Apart from the Corvette and the Solstice and Sky, is it any small wonder that Toyota is now #1 ? - GM-RIP

I love G.M.'s myself, but none look as good as the crossfire! I wrecked my 02 monte in feb. last year....and I would never by another monte as long as i live.... unless its the 70's SS with the 454 in her.

As I've posted in another thread, I recently had my car flat bedded to the dealer.
Well the driver of the flat bed told me he really loved the Crossfire. He said he had the chance to drive one when he "worked" at a Chrysler dealer, and it really impressed him.
He then told me it was one of those Twin Turbo, Double overhead cam, V12's with the larger rear spoiler, that kept the car on the ground at 200 mph.
