Lack of Recalls for Crossfire
For several years all that I have heard from owners of Honda's and Toyota's is how reliable they are to operate. I searched for recalls on several cars tonight on:
http://www.car.com/content/own/servi...0-0-0&id=25022
First I searched on the following car and it has had five recalls:
2005 Toyota Tundra 4X4
Then I seached on the following car and it has had three recalls:
2005 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner V6 Manual
Then I seached on the following car and it has had 10 recalls:
2005 Honda Accord Coupe EX V-6 5-Spd AT w/ XM Radio
Then I seached on the following car and it has had 2 recalls:
2005 Acura RSX 5-speed AT with Leather
Then I searched on the 2004 Crossfire
Oops - no recalls
Then I searched on the 2005 Crossfire
Oops - no recalls
Then I searched on the 2006 Crossfire
Oops - no recalls
Then I searched on the 2007 Crossfire
Oops - no recalls
Now I admit that some of the recalls are minor - but? Comments?

One could look at it as the Crossfire is better than the aforementioned Japanese cars because it has no recalls. But then sometimes I wish Chrysler would recall the Crossfire to fix the IC and seat heater problems so that there would be no discussion/argument when it comes time to have these repaired. I know there are TSB's regarding most of the problems on the Crossfire and they are supposed to be fixed free of charge but a full blown recall carries the full weight of the government to have the issue fixed. Of course recalls are just for defects that are safety in nature but like I said.......I wish.....
The lack of recalls might be due to Crossfire owners not taking their cars to the dealer (out of fear for what they might screw up, etc.).
There should be recalls on these cars; see my post in the 'Wow stop the rust' thread about wanting to start a petition to Chrysler.
Plus, recalls usually cover 10s to 100s of thousands of vehicles. There were only 75k or so of our cars made, and less than 3k SRT6s.
IMO there should be recalls for:
1. Heated seat fixes
2. Rust in doors (owners not part of the forum probably won't ever find)
3. Rust under SRT fixed wing (owners not part of the forum probably won't ever find)
4. SRT intercooler pump
