Alright. Just kidding. This is driving me crazy! Drove to school this morning with the stereo OFF and still heard this popping noise when stopped. What's the deal?

Smokey, trust me, if you're as picky as you say you are, don't waste any more money and time! Live with it until you can buy a new head unit and cut bait on the factory one!

Probably has a bad connection somewhere between the ears and the brain. There's your popping!
Smokey, in order to get help you need to give more info. Go back, read and write back with answers some of the questions you've been asked. That's all part of the diagnostic process and you're the one uniquely positioned to do that part.

When I was 16 I was glad to have any car and load up all my friends and go!!!
How does a 16 yr old end up with a car that Im envious of at 47 yrs old...

No additional information is required due to MY observation that it was no longer a dilemma involving the stereo. All previous questions asked corresponded with the amplifier and other stereo components; thus, any answer I provided regarding the such is no longer relevant to my issue.
Ppro, to answer your question, I am not interested in purchasing an aftermarket radio and am unsure as to why you keep suggesting this when I have so clearly confirmed that it is not in my interest to have anything other than stock. Also, my Roadtrip was $100. Not trying to be mean, just trying to get MY point across as well.
I'm not exactly sure why this forum has such a hard time seeing past my age to actually assist in answering my questions rather than criticizing either my juvenility or myself in general. Wow. This is ridiculous. Please take your ridicule and jealousy elsewhere.

I think I might have an idea what your problem popping sound could be. You will have to do some experimenting to confirm/disprove it.
Cell phones receive signals that we usually don't hear. But when the phone is near speakes or sound equipment, these signals come through speakers as a series of popping sounds....
If you have your phone near your head unit in your car, it might be causing the noise you hear. Mine sometimes does it through the radar detector speaker I installed (I keep the phone either on a strap on the passenger seat back or down next to the emergency brake)
Strangely, no matter how loud or soft the speakers are set (including turned all the way down!) the popping still comes through the speakers.
The only way to stop it is one of the following:
- turn off the stereo completely
- turn off the phone completely
- store the phone far enough away from the stereo and speakers
You should be able to easily test this. With the car running and the stereo the way you usually have it, and your phone where you usually keep it, have someone call you or text you. Or the next time it happens turn off the phone and see if it stops.

Hm. Good point. In the mornings I usually have my phone in the passenger seat because it is too much trouble to try and get out of my pocket if I receive something. I will definitely have to check this one out. I'll wait and turn my phone on whenever I get where I'm going. Come to think of it, I just got a new phone and can't say I recall it ever happening when I had my old phone. I will look into this one for sure. Thanks!

I have not heard cell phone popping in my car, or any other car for that matter. It does, however, make my computer speakers go crazy. If I remember, I will make a video for you to compare.
