sorry to here about your car. glad you are OK. if they do total it try to buy it back from the insurance co. so you can salvage as much as possible.

 

You walked away from it in one piece, thats all that counts man. Even though I do not know you, its good to hear that your ok. It was a great looking car, but something tells me you'll be back with another one just as great looking.

 

Condolences, man. At least your're all right. Such a pretty car. I hope the insurance company makes you somewhat whole for all your upgrades.

sorry dude, that thing is most likely totaled. My car looked pretty much the same, but on the side... They quoted it to have $16,500 in damage, and I had no driveline damage.

thanks guys the estimate guy is coming tom. and being as my vin brings up that my car is worth 11k i'm gonna guess its totaled, thank god for gap ins.. i'm fine no pains at all stayed home all day and relaxed.

 

Oh man, Irwin, it's not pretty & it does have that "I'm toast" look. Sorry, though it's good to know you're OK! I loved the looks of the 'devil mobile'.
See, that's why I'm always posting my "I hate deer" screeds. But, I've learned from past experience (the 2 cars I presently own, the Alabaster '04 & the Kamikaze Cougar have both been whacked by deer plus I've hit 2 more in the past with other cars I've owned) that you never try to avoid the deer, just slam on the brakes & hope the stupid thing moves out of the way. I've seen deer hit a car, do a 360 degree turn in the air, land on it hooves & keep running. I've seen deer come to a dead stop after a full run, just like they've never moved. I've had a buck charge after my old Cavalier when parked in a dentist parking lot; head down on a full run & then stop at the last second while I'm in the driver's side in panic mode, mouth open, waiting for the crash. I'm telling you, they're EVIL! They are out for the complete domination of the human race one car/driver at a time.

Sorry to hear about your car, glad you didn't get hurt. We have deer all over our neighborhood. My family have hit 3 of them in the past couple years. I'm almost scared to go out at night because of them.

Well, I've had 2 Deer mishaps. After those, unless I'm running better than 60 MPH, I'm hitting the deer...

oooohhh I wish I could wreck mine, as long as no one got hurt. that way I could get rid of it without the negative equity. =)

 

always aim for the animal, it'll end up costing you less on the insurance.

hitting an animal is a comp claim, while avoiding it and hitting something else is an at-fault accident. like the note said on the help page on my Progressive quoting software..."a one car accident is ALWAYS an at-fault accident."

 

to be honest the deer scared the **** out of me it jumped out of long grass and scrub brush (all still brown this time of year) and was probably 15-20 feet in front of me. my responce was more of an oh **** thing then me intentionally avoiding the deer. deer are tuff animals, ive killed many, put bullets right through there heart and lungs and then tracked them fo a half mile before they died. with how low my car was i kinda think that if i would have hit it, probably would have come right through the windshield, so its kinda a toss up to me which would have been worse, even if i would have been hurt a lil bit but the car was in some sort of a salvageable shape, i would have prefered that.
