Default Peer Pressure !!

I met a fellow forum member and his lovely wife for Supper tonight and he talked me into using my car to try out a new emblem he is thinking of putting on his, he has one that has a magnetic sticker on the back so we could try it out in different locations. Let us know what you think.
He is thinking it can stand for either (Six Speed Transmission) or (Slap Stick Transmission)
I won't tell you who my accomplice was , but let's just say the emblem was something American Motors used 40 some years ago....hint, hint

Is he trying to turn you into a "Rebel" or maybe an "Ambassador" for an "American" time long gone by. You'll be so "Metropolitan" if you follow his lead. Watch out for the "Grimlins" that lurk in his mind. With just a little paint, your car can be nice looking "Classic" like this one.

Just as long as you're a good "Sportabout" it.

It looks ok, but I'm not very fond of badges that don't really have a connection to the actual car.

The last photo (emblem just behind the small fixed "V" windows) is different and unique and clever and looks and fits just right. And there's nothing wrong with putting "SST" on this red headed stepchild car. As someone always says -- "MIYO."

EMBLEM ENVY

If you spend much time on the forum, it doesn't take long to notice that SRT owners have several fender badges available to choose from, such as, Mercedes Benz V6 Kompressor emblems, that are very appropriate, as are AMG insignias.
Forum member SRT SIX created some great looking SRT6 emblems of his own, and markets them here on the forum, and last but certainly not least are the seldom seen larger "SRT6" logo's (from the factory) that appeared on the fenders of the very last few SRT's ever produced.
Of course this is nothing more than "Eye Candy", but it does make one car stand out over another one, since all SRT's are virtually identical.
The same can be said for all Limited and Base Crossfires also. But unfortunately none of the items I've mentioned belong on a Base or Limited Crossfire, that is unless you want to be considered a "poseur".
Other than a "Powered by Mercedes" or SRT SIX's new 3.2 V6 emblem, there's really not much else that works. So what's a person to do if ya just want a little more visual excitement on your front fenders?
This conundrum got me to thinking, what with the general public basically knowing nothing about the Crossfire in general, we can put anything we want to on our cars and who's going to know the difference?
I wanted to come up with something that would be Chrysler related, and would apply to both Limited and Base cars, Coupes and Roadsters, manual and automatics. So with that in mind, I went with a registered trademark of the Chrysler Corporation, (last used on a very limited # of Dodge Trucks) and ordered a set of "SST" emblems for my car.
Now since the letters "SRT" stand for Street & Racing Technology, I figured "SST" could represent "Six Speed Transmission" or "Slap Stick Transmission" depending on which one you own. It could have a dual meaning just like the vintage Olds "442" logo had, depending upon what transmission was chosen.
And if people should happen to get it confused with the letters "SRT" as I fly by them on the highway, that's just something I'm going to have to live with.

Well now Mike you let the cat out of the bag, they all know it was you
Actually these are on my car for demonstration purposes only, I'm one that was really drawn to the blacked out trim as opposed to the silver and can't see adding much in the way of badges.
Although I have been studying on the idea of the white door and some lettering, maybe if I do that they won't hassle me as much about no front plate
And I will admit I am no American Motors expert, but I was always under the impresssion that the Super Sonic Touring option was only available on the Pacer

Great Idea - I think some crossfire ones would be great... especially since I'd be able to just take them off of someone else's car

The "SST"emblem is well done but putting it on your XFire would be a matter of personal preference. My personal preference would be not to put it on my car.

I figured I'd hear all the AMC jokes when I went public with my newest trim mod, I just didn't think they'd be coming from my "closest" forum friends.
As most everyone knows, I get great enjoyment out of confusing people with this car. (Why else would I have an AMX emblem on my hatch?) I just thought this was a way to add a little "bling", and give it the "illusion" of being a SRT without being a "poseur". (Their mistake, not mine).
I think of emblems, insignias. badges, etc. as "Automotive Jewelry" and since I personally don't wear any myself, I figure that's probably one reason I enjoy it on my car. As long as it's subtle, and not over done.
Historically, the SST emblem when it was used by AMC never appeared on the Gremlin, or the Pacer (or an AMX for that matter) But it was used on practically every other AMC model in the early 70's, signifying this car had the "Upscale Trim Option".
I thought why should the SRT's have all the fun with their numerous emblem options, so I ordered this set of very nice "reproduction" SST emblems for my car, but I didn't receive them until after my car wound up in the shop, and that's why I asked RickZ to model them on his beautiful "Black Beauty" for the Forum.
Obviously they're not for everybody, but it's just one more option available to us to have some fun with our cars, that's all.
MIYO

Up to this point, I have yet to see an emblem that I would have ever considered putting on my Limited SSB coupe. I don't like doo-dads and "flashy" trim items. However the idea of an SST sticker does intrigue me. I am sure that if you started selling them I would be quick to purchase one. I like the idea of the simple three letter acronym. Please fill us in as you go!

Price? or Where to purchase?

I like the picture from the back with the SST under the Crossfire. Did you try it on the front grill? I would be interested in that shot.

No we didn't think to try it in the grill, would have been hard to get a picture anyway as the grill is plastic and wouldn't stick. as is the rocker panel right in front of the rear tire I thought it would look good there, but Mike has other plans for that area anyway. I would have to agree of all the places on the hatch was where I liked it best.
