Remove front speaker cover
One of the speaker grills has a small indented "tear" where something sharp hit it. I think it can be pushed out from the inside and be unnoticeable. What's the secret to prying off the grill? I don't want to damage the chrome-like piece around it.
Thought I'd ask rather than experiment and end up cursing. My wife always complains that I'll offend the neighbors.

It just pops off. A flat blade screwdriver will do the trick, just be gentle. If that doesn't work or you don't want to take the risk of possibly scratching it scrounge around the house for some stiff plastic & use that instead. It does have a "top" & a " bottom" & will need to be re-installed in the same way it comes off.
Oops, forgot to mention, pry behind the chrome piece.
Cursing is always an added bonus to any car work!

That's what I needed to know. I think I have a plastic spackling blade that might work.
After I solve this, then I have to figure out why the rear speakers aren't working. The bonehead who owned this replaced the radio with an aftermarket and I have no way of knowing if the rears ever worked with the new radio. It does have fade control, so one would think they were hooked up. So either he screwed up the installation, never hooked them up, or the wires wiggled loose and they stopped working.
I'm a little reluctant to pull the radio. Of the many guys who replaced the stock radio - is there a standard plug connector (wiring harness) that provides power to the radio and feeds the four speakers? (I hope bonehead did not cut this off and splice wires.)

Sorry, Gold, can't help you with that one. The only reason I found out about the speaker grilles was when one popped off when I hit the deer (actually, it hit me) last March in my Coupe. The darn thing didn't stay on until I had the body work done, it would just randomly pop off, usually when driving.
