Default eyelids and chrome?

Hi guys, anyone know where i can find any eye lids for the xf? i've been looking and cant find any at all. also whats yall opinion on adding alot of chrome additions to the exterior of a white crossfire? doing it to a black one looks amazing, but i haven't seen any pics of a white one. i have a white xf and was thinking about dressing it up?

www.tvtdesign.com will chrome paint them. I just got mine (in chrome paint) and they look pretty good on a black car. IMHO, they would look just as good on white. Note that chrome paint does not look exactly like chrome. That's why I said "pretty good". They are plastic so real chrome lids are not available.

i've seen chrome paint look more like a satin gray after it dries. but Dan will have a better opinion on that more than i will.

No pics yet. They actually sent me two of the same side. So, I had not installed the one because I didn't want people thinking I was winking at them LOL

The correct one arrived yesterday so I'll install them this weekend after I pick up some glue.

It's really hard to say how close to chrome they look. In the garage out of direct sunlight, they look like dark grey. But, out in sunlight they look brighter and more like chrome. I'll take some pics after I install them.

Well there is a paint chroming process that looks like chrome. I have a chrome trim kit in my Mini and it looks great. I can't tell the difference, and I was wondering if it is the same type of chrome painting, otherwise I would just call it silver paint. Here's pic of the chrome trim on my Mini, and it's not real chrome, it's chrome paint.

TVT says they use Chrysler's chrome paint. What is the chroming process you are referring to?

It's called Fantachrome. Do a google on it. I'm looking for a US dealer.

Yeh, after you posted the question about them here I sent them an email asking the same thing. I never got a response.

I just took some photos of the "chrome" painted eyelid up against my chrome truck bumper. A mostly cloudy day.

Yep, I would call that silver. It seems to match the windshield surround?

No. Actually it's darker than that. It doesn't match anything on the car. I'm seriously considering repainting them with the Killer Chrome from Alsa Corp.

Here's what TVT said they would look like:

In this thread:

And in bright sunlight, they are pretty close. But as you can from my photos, the light makes a big difference in how the paint appears.
