Trade-In Value
Ok, I thought about trading in my 04 coupe (with 41,000 miles) and Blue Book only offering $9,000.
I was shocked, the dealer was shocked (but not sympathetic) so it looks like I'll own it forever.
Anyone have any beter luck on trade value?

Actually that is why I bought my 'used' Crossfire. The depreciation is so bad on these cars, they get very inexpensive at only a few years old. My wife and I originally had our mind set on a used Saturn Sky, but we got much more car for less money buying the Crossfire. I know Saturn is a good car, I just sold my Saturn I had for 16 years. But the Crossfire was such a good deal, we couldn't pass it up.

I assume you want to trade to a SKY? They look great!
I had an SL2 for 16 years. I got to know my local dealer parts manager thru a friend of a friend and he always gave me the best deal he could on parts. He would even get some of the mechanics to lend me special tools when I needed them. Very good expierence with Saturn, but then I have heard horror stories as well.
What I saw with the SKY, is that resale value was holding so well, for a few thousand more, you could buy new instead of used. 'New' was really out of our price range at this juncture in my life, I have other financial priorities for now.
Here are the pics I took to sell my Saturn after 16 years of ownership. I can tell you that the quality paint job on my Saturn is better than that of my Crossfire. I don't know if that is still the case with newer Saturns.

Good luck in what ever you decide.

I just checked the Kelly blue book on my srt roadster with 4900 miles and the private party sale price is under $ 20k. I wouldn't sell it for that price for the fun it gives me.
Bring them over to Canada
They just sold a 2005 Black roadster SRT with 14k
for $32000 LMAO
I got my 2004 xfire with 4k for 20k taxes in (mint)
Now that i posted that watch the xfires come over

Yea trade-in is always like that, the offer is crazy.
WHy don't you just sell it off to a third party? Better price, possible you can double the asking prise to $16k or 18k. Put up the "For sell by owner" sign and park on the street.

The values of these cars is absolutely unreal.
I looked at all kinds of cars before I bought mine. For the price, the SRT6 blew away most everything I compared it to.
I know there are a lot of theories as to why the values are so low, but I wonder what the real reasons are.
It seems that a lot of Crossfire owners flip cars pretty often. Perhaps that has something to do with it as there are always low mileage specimens out there. The overpriced sticker when new surely didn't help either. LOL.

The trade in value just sucks! I thought the prices wouldn't have much further to drop when I got mine. I was wrong. I'll be upside-down for a long time. I don't mind too much, since I love the car, but I'll be far outta warranty by the time I can trade her in. I hope she holds up.
I've been trying to sell my 58K, '04 Coupe for almost a year now starting at 14,7 then 14,5 - 14 - 13, 5...well, you can see how this goes. Right now, I just plan on holding onto it & "casually" trying to sell it. The car is on Cars.com, Carsoup, Craigslist, has been in the local papers, regional papers & hasn't gotten more than a casual email inquiry or a couple of questions. The wife has been driving it to work everyday she can & parks in her lot right next to U.S. Hwy. 45 with "For Sale" signs on it.
All the local kids want it but can't afford the price, they're looking for something under 10K & that ain't happenin'!!
I'll keep it forever if the going trade-in price is 9K!

I bought mine to keep, maybe when I retire, I will see what its worth...3 sons will may have to fight over it if I kick the bucket....fiberboats....maybe I will just sell in Canada...thats not a bad profit...but I prolly couldn't find another one...so better just keep it...MB's last forever anyway...
I lucked out with my trade in. I talked and haggled until I think they just wanted me to shut up. I traded in my 06 limited coupe with 32,000 miles on her.... for $17,000.
All this for a SRT of course.

This is the first car since I can't remember when, that I have kept for more than 3 years. Just spent $1500 to spruce up the appearance of a $10K car. Still don't feel screwed. Looks great and I smile every time I get in it.
I paid 12,500 on mine with 18,000mi on it and there are a few issues I have to deal with, other than a deer strike but I don't feel shafted one bit. Hell, I flew halfway round the country to buy it. The trip back would have been "funner" had I had safe rubber on the car, but oh well. Seeing the prices of the SRTs going down like they are, and then that jack@$$ on eBay having the gaul to expect 45K for his, wow!
